Went and looked at it today. Very impressed. Good rubber. A true garage queen. It would stay as such. My Explorer ST is my daily beater. The other option is a new one that is built yet still in Flat Rock. It has the 10 spd auto. It would cost a good 20g more. My head tells me to buy the 6 spd and get out of Dodge. What says ye ? I do value the forums response.

If you can afford it get the 20. The Gen 3 and A10 are awesome.

Depends if you want a manual car. If you do, the 17 is a better choice than the 20 because it has way more aggressive gearing. If you have to have the automatic then just wait it out.

While that's a very nice '17, I hope you aren't willing to pay $35k for it. No 3 year old non-Shelby Mustang is worth that. If you can handle the wait time, I'd go for the 2020, the newer engine and trans are worth it.

There is one other option: https://www.grapevineford.com/certi...20a0e0adf666e9d8aebb39399.htm?searchDepth=7:8 It was in a rental fleet according to the Carfax. It is clean. The interior is in excellent condition. The Ford CPO warranty coverage is excellent. The 5.0 auto convertibles are not an inexpensive rental. It is not the type of car that kids rent. The milage is not a concern with it becoming a weekend driver. Heck, I've already put 11k on the ST that I bought the last week of this March.

Mikey that vert looks great but the price should be lowered.. check our Hertz..they recently filed for bankruptcy.

I've thought of that. Sadly, the units bought from Hertz don't have the 100K powertrain coverage a Ford CPO car has. I am going to talk to my guy in fleet sales tomorrow. Time will tell. Worst case, I walk out the door. I paid cash for the ST so it's not like I have to trade for this car.

There’s plenty of nice 2018/2019 CPO cars out there fully loaded around 35,000 with less than 10000 miles. That would be my choice. Those dealers you sent have higher prices than other dealers I’ve seen so you may want to expand your search.

Hit up cargurus.com and do a nationwide search on what you’re looking for... you’ll find out what is considered fair pricing and absurd pricing really quick...

Don’t rush into buying a Mustang of any year and don’t let emotions play a part either...

Stay away from mt82 cars, they’re junk transmissions. Get the A-10. If you cant afford a 2020 get a used 2019 in good shape..

$34k is way high.

I paid $29.9 for my 16 with 5,800 mi in 2018. It’s a performance package, base model.

I would opt for the 17 if the price was better and pocket the difference. $20k will make up for the performance difference really quick if you wanted to modify the 17 at any point.

Full disclosure - the 20 with an A10 is a much faster car. However, you aren’t rowing your own gears. That’s a big thing for me.

Another vote for a used 2019 with A10.

The '17 GT PP car seems a bit high, but it is a CPO car (but that certainly has to be factored in). It's nicely loaded: Premium, Shaker, Nav, Reverse Cam (that used to be a standalone option), black roof, special paint ($495 upcharge), has the really killer leather Recaros.

I had a '16, most of the same options, PP, Shaker, 401A, Nav, etc., but it was a convertible. I also had the upgraded Premier interior, in red, that's now bundled with the 401A.

So now I have a '19, also fully loaded, including the PP with Magneride, but vs. the 6-speed in my '16 I now have the 10-speed auto (A10).

So just the base car to car comparison, both manual, both GT PP, the Gen 3 has more HP, but the MY18+ gearing is a little taller, it'll feel a little lazier (even with the 3.73 in the PP M6 cars). However, with the MY18+ you can get the A10, and in a PP car, with the 3.55 TORSEN rear, and it's crazy good, especially with a Premium/401A car with all the drive/launch/control modes. Now add in Magneride, and it's a real game changer, more comfortable, while being better handling, more precise, and adaptive on-the-fly.

Finally, some of the new features in the MY18+ car like the digital dash are pretty awesome. Since I was coming from a '16 I wanted my ownership experience to be different, so having options that weren't available made them kind of a "requirement" for me. My '19 is better in every metric, from objective performance to subjective fun factor like the new tech, etc.

Again, that '17 isn't a terrible deal (if you could get it for about $30K, that would be inline with KBB), loaded, with the extra special options, and CPO'ed, and if you're not coming from another S550, you're not going to miss out (so to speak), on some of the newer features.

FYI, seriously starting to think about an Explorer ST for the next family ride to replace the DD/RT next May.
