Autonation and those other “big box” second hand dealerships (CarMax, Carvana, etc) does not follow the same CPO warranty/verification process or procedures that would be adhered to IF that car were at a FORD Dealership.

Hope it’s not one of the 2018 GT’s that’s been dumped due to a Ford Buy Back over the “tick”, or the owner got fed up and traded it in somewhere.
It's a Ford dealership, not a second hand store. I was mistaken about Autonation, it's Sonic who owns the dealership, but it's a Ford dealership in Texas with a ton of new inventory.

I'm waiting for the dealership to confirm whether its been flashed and how it got CPO. It's an AutoNation dealership, so I'd hope they'd be more careful than a smaller chain. Then again, dealerships have bad reputations for a reason.

I have signed the paperwork but held off on mailing it back until I get a written response. I dont want to spend $44k and have no warranty.

Here's the intake at issue.

I'm waiting for a response regarding the flash counter. I'm starting to wonder whether I really need magneride or not. I live in the NYC area and our roads are shit.

Really wanted a V8, but considering looking elsewhere now for a fast and fun car under $50k with warranty.
Have you checked the leftover 2018 new inventory? You might be able to find something left on a lot that's really close to what you want and could possibly get it for the same price or cheaper than new along with better interest rates. Might be worth a look before giving up on the platform all together.

There's not really any Ruby red GT premiums with magneride, which is the issue. I have only test drove cars without it, but NYC roads are awful and I figured I'd want the added comfort. I know Koni has new active shocks coming out that are supposed to be between magneride and pp1, so that may be an option.

If I'm thinking practically, I probably should not have considered a mustang for NYC winters in the first place, but my commute is 4 miles to work. I just really wanted the V8 noise. The other options I test drove were M240, C43 Amg, S3, and S4. All were great cars, but I wanted an impractical and fun V8.

Also, the difference between new and used is 2.99% and 3.49% with USAA, so not much.

Update, dealership won't put anything in writing. They just ask me to call them to talk about it. I told them that they're crazy if they think I'm purchasing the car without something in writing and told them I'm out.

Not worth the potential headache. Plus, their purchase paperwork came with an arbitration clause that was going to make my recourse too expensive and out-of-state.

Good move. Slime move by the dealer, basically says they know the warranty may fall into question and won’t stand behind it. You’ll find the right one!

I’ve dealt with an AutoNation dealer and was not impressed.

Doesn't the JLT intakes have the removable insert inside that reduces the airflow for non tuned applications?
I don't think it does mine did not come with one

Didn't realize I forgot to update this. The dealership still claimed there was no tune, which JLT told me was impossible, but the car also had its resonators cut out and was lowered, which I dont believe recommended with magneride.
