I did the trans and diff fluid swap at 3k miles and now the trans is making bad grinding sounds when shifting gears. I did this same service to my ZL1 at 3k at the same shop and no problems. only difference is the camaro is manual and not the 10 speed auto. Any suggestions I could tell the shop as they try to fix the problem? They have already towed the car back to their facility. Any and all help is always greatly appreciated.

Since your experience with the Camaro really doesn't apply here, I'll ask....do you know the process for re-filling these 10-speeds?

No, the shop did all the work. They are in my opinion the best shop around my area and I fully trust in their work. I'm hoping they know the process but who knows. Do you know and I could relay the message to them just in case? Or maybe a link to a DIY laying around here on mustang6g?

Go here and read Fact # 4:

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...tions-to-harsh-or-no-shift-conditions.135463/

I hope the shop filled it correctly and checked it correctly per the Ford instructions.... as you will also find in Fact # 4 there are different factory 10R80 dipsticks and fill levels...

Call the shop back and have it towed there at their expense.

The shop offered towing before i could even ask, they are really cool 😎 I sent them the 10r80 link and hopefully they will find something good in there that helps figure out the problem. Thanks to all for helping

If that's the case then they'd know how to fill it properly. Sorry guy, but your trans is done. Hope their certified cause Ford ain't gonna be amused.

Hey, I'm having a grinding noise on my 2018 Ecoboost with the 10R80, it has about 78K but has made this for a while once the transmission is warmed up after an hour or so

I attached a video from last night driving around LA here

Also I've done two full fluid exchanges at Ford of Sacramento at 44K and 76K

After watching your video I don’t feel so bad about our trans. yours sounds way worse than ours did. Ours only made noise during shifts. Turns out the shop put the filter on wrong. they replaced, along with new gaskets and now we are good to go so far. The shop has also mentioned that if I want I can take the car to a ford dealership to have them replace the transmission on their account. I dont feel the need for it as of now. Ill keep y’all updated if anything else happens.

Quick update. The transmission has been fine so far. Went to the track and ran a 12.2 stock last week. I'm at about 9k miles now and no worries. I guess the shop figured out the problem :sunglasses:
