A CF DS is sexy, but I’d be afraid to run one over an aluminum one for fear of having a rock or other piece of debris bounce up from the road and hit it, causing it to become weakened. Not knocking them at all, as I wouldn’t have a problem running one, but only in a controlled environment where the risk of something striking it was safer than on the street.

I don't have any from the D/S. It did make the 3.55 gear more noticeable. You can feel the gear.

Has anyone made the move to an aluminum 1 piece driveshaft? If so what brand and how difficult was the install.

Looking for any and all opinions, even if you've had previous experience with one on an s550 or share a friends experience.

Thanks in advance. I'll be installing FI this winter once my knee heals up and can walk again
Hey this is Junior from N4SM, on my personal 2016 GT Manual I went with the Drive shaft shop 1 piece aluminum driveshaft. We installed it, torque everything to spec and haven't had an issues or vibrations. I have hear of some people having issues with them but mine has been great.

You should feel it seat of the pants with the 3.73 gear set. It pulls like a freight train!!!

@Prodigal @Codeblue009 Guys, I need some advice from you. I asked sales representative from QA1 about CF driveshaft for my mach1 and got answer that shaft for gt350 is not compatible and will not work for 6MT Tremec. I dont get it, as you write you have it installed without any additional modification? Hows that the manufacturer itself doesn't know this? I have EU version with limited slip diff instead of torsen, but the lenght should be the same as I found the original part number for driveshaft same as for US version. I would rather not buy wrong, after all it is a lot of money.. Any thoughts?

So, I am not sure of the part number, because Steeda did my complete install of all my modifications. Jamie from Steeda had recommended that I get this on my vehicle and so I agreed. The part number is not listed in my Bill of Materials. @tj@steeda maybe you can help Esset with his questions?

This may warrant a phone call to Matt who can speak to Jamie - can the poster call us at 1800 950 0774 to discuss the specifics? I will alert him of this thread but it may be best to speak directly with him on this one.

Best,

TJ

I cannot speak for the EU version but in the US the M1 and GT350 both use the same 6 sp Tremac trans and same rear end. The distances between then is the same. There’s no way for the driveshaft not to work. I ordered mine from Steeda who verified fitment and it shipped directly from QA1. It fit perfectly and has no NVH. It actually makes my car feel more responsive in terms of accelleration. I love it.

Thanks guys for your input. I have asked my ford dealer for part number for original driveshaft and I was given a number FR3Z4R602AA, which is exactly same as for GT350, GT350R. So every driveshaft which is for GT350/R fits Mach1, even EU version.

I finally got around to installing the new shaft and am happy to report that everything also fits the European version of mach1. NVH may be a bit higher at WOT, but mainly I have fixed the problem with the original shaft which made a ticking sound at about 50 km/h (no sticker). Overall, I'm very pleased with the result

What is the weight of each one of the drive shafts. Do you have the M6 or the A10?

I installed a QA1 Carbon Fiber drive shaft in my son's 2022 Mustang GT w/10R80 and we chased high speed harmonic vibration issues before going back to the OEM 2-piece drive shaft with the "sloppy" center support. The carbon fiber drive shaft was a work of art and perfectly balanced but there is a system vibration issue in certain S550 driveline combinations that can sometimes be challenging to isolate and my son's car turned out to be one of those rare examples we couldn't resolve to our satisfaction. We explained the system NVH details to QA1 and they were great about accepting the return and refund. (The system NVH issues went away with the factory phased 2-piece driveshaft.) I think GT500 carbon fiber drive shafts address system NVH concerns with expensive CV joints at both ends?

Maybe late to the post, but wanted some high speed road miles before reporting. Just finished my QA1 CF install few weeks back. Just had a road trip with some high speed runs and no vibration. Next is some exhaust work and Steeda 2 piece rotors.
