Yesterday, I picked up my 2026 "replacement" Mustang GT and traded in my 2019, so I guess I'm kicked outta here and into Mustang7G.com. Thanks for all the great ideas and information. I learned much more than I shared.

The gen 7 looks much bigger than the gen 6. I think some of it down to camera angles but they are a bigger car.
Gen 8 red convertibles have at least one buyer when they are put into production then

It's all the camera angle. The floor pans are the same. My aftermarket mats from my '19 exactly fit the new 2026. Gen 7s are heavier, but not really physically larger, unless the overhangs have added length.

The hood is higher overall, I believe due to pedestrian safety when you hit them so you don't chop their legs off at the kneecaps. Makes the car look much larger in the front for sure.

I think it's more for Euro regulations than US.

We (UK) left the European market but still governed by same safety standards

I've always wondered this. Too bad we didn't have more notice from OP, because I would have asked him to park the cars nose-to-nose and then take a side photo.

I like the body-painted trunk panel better, but Ford styled the front too "chiseled" IMO.

I drove by the factory when the S650 was just coming out and parked next to a new one that looked like some sort of test mule in the lot, it was a decent bit higher in the front not huge maybe just an inch or two, but the lack of curve like the S550 hoods was noticeable.

I think the black trunk panel looks better on any S650, I would have to get that corrected if I had one.
