Not today but last night. Went to a car meet with a guy I had met in a C8 on nitrous. The guy who organized the meet just bought a RTR built stage 3 in factory painted Mystichrome! I'm not a big fan of some of the RTR aesthetics(or price), but you can't go wrong with a Whipple and Mystichrome!

Not today but this weekend, I changed the oil and filter. Castrol Edge 5W30 and Mobile 1 M1-212A filter. Never had the BBQ tick and still don't hear it. Car's at 20K miles. Also could not stand the left side tail light to deck lid misalignment any longer. Body panels and trim that don't line up cheapen the car's appearance. Got the wrenches out and shimmed the tail light out so it sits flush now. What an improvement for so little effort. It now looks more refined.
Also got the the recall letter on the fuel pump. So I guess I got to make the appointment at the stealership.

Ordered a new charcoal canister assembly for my 2015 GT $284.00 out the door price. I had the vent valve solenoid die and it was $50.00. I did some research and found that the reason for that going bad is putting more gas in the tank after the pump shuts off, that just push's gas into the charcoal canister and that in turn kills the vent valve solenoid. I was going to just buy the vent valve until that revelation. I do that every time I fill my tank; I round the dollar amount up. So, I am not taking the chance that the charcoal canister may still be good, I will replace the whole damn thing and start fresh with better fueling habits and a new EVAP system.

Didn't want to just let the dealership take care of it? All that is under lifetime warranty, IIRC, as part of the emissions system.

I'm pretty sure emissions warranties all drop out at 8 years/80k miles and even then it's limited to certain parts (not the charcoal canister) after Fords 3 year warranty ends.

Topping off the tank is also hard on the purge valve. Fortunately that's not too difficult to replace if needed.

I had mine replaced, and it was long after the 3/36 had expired.

Federal Specified Major Components: Covers major control units for 8 years or 80,000 miles.

  • Fuel lines, vapor hoses, clamps, and connectors [1, 2]
