As someone who has been playing with the idea of a supercharger, would one also need to get stronger half shafts and different cats? I've read about stock cats melting after adding a supercharger.

My cats lasted about 5k miles after I put the Procharger on. I never upgraded the half shafts on that car, but I never launched it from a dig. I did, however, replace the half shafts on my Mach 1 yesterday. Surprisingly easy job that took only about 2.5 hours. Stock right side was leaking. The GT350 version was on sale at LMR and they definitely are beefier.

Seriously. No disrespect to the OP, The emphasized nostril thing is not a good look. I actually wrote to RTR about it, begging them to think of another way to glam the front end - anything other than freaking nostrils. And red almost makes it look like it got a bloody nose.

Whatevs. To each their own. But this guy is about to have an eye opening experience with the Whipple. He should play the “a whole new world” song from Aladdin in his first drive.

Well, I finally broke down and purchased a supercharger for my 2025 Mustang GT. I went with a stage one Whipple (will do the upgrade from 1 to 2 after the warranty expires). I cannot wait for it to come in and be installed. However, I am now having my usual buyer's remorse and second guessing my choices. I wonder if I should have gone with the Roush instead. The main reason being i love that whine. I did order the open air boxes from Whipple which supposedly make their system sound more like the Roush but I am not sure how effective it will be in that regard. Opinions? Suggestions?

I do not think you should be second guessing! We put the Whipples on for customers per request a lot! We even had some put on for in stock units and they sold fast. Have fun!

The performance difference in your car will make up for that whine, or lack-there-of. Honestly, that whine comes from the inefficiency of the old TVS and roots style compressors. The less noise you hear, the more efficient the set-up, but I get it. for so long that was an unmistakable element of a supercharger. The half shafts remaining stock will be fine on the street as long as you don't run a super sticky slick on the back, you would be surprised how many times i hit mine from a dig, even with the Nitto 555GII's and they have held up. They have zero hits on a prepped surface to date. The tires/lack of traction are like a safety valve for the half shafts.
