When I read "Coyote swapped ZR-1" I thought it meant the ZR-1 that already came with a DOHC engine. 😅

A stock Coyote, even Gen I, was already a bit more powerful than a stock LT5 (though with less torque). And there could be reasons why it's easier to maintain a Coyote than a 35-year-old 32-valve Chevy.

Been waiting for someone to coyote swap a vette for yearrrrs. It's finally happened.
Right? There are so many years of Corvette for which a Coyote would be an improvement, and for the C4 we've already seen DOHC engines from the factory.

Cool project but as others have said...why?

I mean, I did hear him talk about how much a new LS9 would have been (his was bad), and how he'd be chasing heat soak issues, but still.

Seems like it would have made more sense to fix the car, sell it, and then do the swap to some random cheap C6.

Well then you'd be stuck with the rest of the C4...

I have seen enough LS1 swapped fox bodies, I guess he wanted to level the field. No doubt the purists will hate it, especially on the flagship model.
And that's all I ever wanted. What's good for the goose.

First thing I thought of was, wow, are there going to be some butthurt Chevy guys. I love it.

They've already done an LS Swap in the DeLorean.
Time for a Coyote in a DeLorean!

Alex is definitely a trolling douche lol but I love this swap. BTW, he did this because the stock engine blew up and he had access to a Coyote engine. He has access to fabricators, he is a tuner....come on, you guys should LOVE this! A C6 ZR1 with twin turbo Coyote is badass....and it pisses off all the purists! I am very surprised by the reaction here.
Why not upgrade the engine? I don't see the issue. I'm a little surprised the Coyote plus twins fit in that engine bay.

Hopefully he replaced the trashy see through hood as well. That always seemed low class to me.

A new factory longblock is at least $13k if you can find one, a built one would be another $25k. And after he got fucked over by Wonder Racing on the Trinity 5.8 build he doesn't trust anyone to build an engine.

I think the turbos had to go in the fenders

Stock Coyote is a great choice. You can find one in a junkyard for cheap and drop it in. With twin turbos you can easily and reliably make more power than the stock LS9 engine.

Sounds fair enough to me, if that's what you got put them together. I've been wondering though, how would a coyote got in a Mazda 2??

That’s a crazy project. I’m conflicted about it. On the one hand, the Coyote is now legendary. But changing the identity of a legendary car like a ZR1 is something else.

As long as he’s happy with it, it’s all that matters.

I mean, it makes sense if he’s supercharging. The coyotes will make better power more reliably.

I get if you dont like him but dont understand how you could hate on this swap, he is making more power then the ls9, he is a coyote tuner so its his bread and butter, I've seen way to many mustangs powered by chevy engines, I think this car is awesome and love thats its not just the same old same old, he has is starting on the factory button hooked up to the zr1 torque tube transmission and rear end, and its a twin turbo stick shift coyote how could you not love this? Again I 100% understand not liking him, have a great day

Sounds about right. Back a few decades, Chevy engines were always blowing up something (if not the rear end or axles) which is why a lot of my friends built up Chevys because lots of engines and spare parts at the junkyards. Ford Windsors and Clevelands were hard to find as they didn't blow up as much.
