I like the C8 on many levels. It's a good combo of a muscle car and a sports car. I'd like to add it to my garage, keeping my Mach of course.

This. I have never been a fan of Vette's. Had a friend who had I believe a 94 in the early 2000's, didn't really impress me. I do respect them for what they are, definitely great performance and they have a great history, but just have never wanted one.I think you are either a Corvette guy or not one. I'm not one and never had a desire for one. To me they are just a little too pretentious. I believe the C8 is a good car and a great value bit it's just not for me.
1. I've always respected vette's and considered a C6 however since I picked up my '17 GT a few months ago, I don't think I could ever own a GM product. I can't seem to articulate why. They're so plain, but that's not the right word. I do like the C7, but why those huge wheel gaps? The C8 is not a pretty car, the looks aren't for me. Have you ever driven a vette? The gearing is so tall, it's almost useless for a twisty road, whereas the Mustang I took it out on a mountain road and I left it in third most of the time (it's a manual, of course). Also, GM is obsessed with chrome, so if you get one, you need to de-chrome it.So here I am on a Saturday evening looking at cars for sale on Carfax. Hard to believe the GT350 ceased being built 6 years ago! GT500 4 years ago. Mach 1, 3 years ago.... I'm still not on board with the Dark Horse. So, I started looking at '24-'26 C8 Corvettes... No doubt the Corvettes perform. But I just can't get into the design. I just can't. Am I biased? No, it's just that I don't like how they look. So, I have two questions:
1) Is it just me?
2) If folks are looking for a performance vehicle, that is not a Mustang due to aging last Gen models, or the new Gen because of the tablet dash screens, what do you think they are buying?
I'm just throwing this out there. Kind of a pretend we are having a few Scotches and chewing the fat on all thing's cars.
That's the thing too; one can buy a used 550 for a very reasonable price, add a few goodies, and be happy motoring down the interstate for a fraction of a C8 $. I have not driven a C8 and if I did, I surmise I would like the performance. But not the appearance.1. 2. I don't understand why anyone would buy an S650. The S550's look better, perhaps a little dated but that adds to the character of a mustang. I bought a used S550 with cash sitting in my checking account, why someone would want to go into debt on a $60K car that doesn't look as good as my used car is beyond me. People love to make poor financial decisions.
I've been hearing people say this - I only wonder about two things:I'd love to own a car with the GM 5.5 liter FPC V8 and a manual. Maybe the next Camaro?
If GM designs a new Camaro, they should plan to put their best engines in it.I've been hearing people say this - I only wonder about two things:
1. Would GM tune it down a little bit so it doesn't match the HP of the Corvette version?
2. How much wider is the DOHC V8? Would it fit in the engine bay of the Alpha II platform?
