Dropping my car off next weekend for OPGs and Sprocket, along with getting the headers installed (because for 500, why not)..

So… the question is, which injectors do I get when I switch to E and buy the Wengard fuel system… (shooting for 800-900hp)

Your current injectors will work if your tuner really knows what he’s doing.

Anyone swap alternators? Think I have a voltage regulator issue and am looking at the FP 200amp alt with tensioner and belt

Slightly off topic but what shocks/struts are you street guys running? Im on a g3, 105mm, with 305 PS4S and its just a struggle to get traction down low. Granted, i dont really ever race so i think going to a Viking double adjustable is probably overkill.

I also get the ps4s is more of a street tire and ive looked at stuff like the 555R but it sounds like id be sacrificing cornering/handling with those.

Im still on the stock shocks but do have other suspension mods. Curious if theres any improvement to make without committing to moving it away from mostly a street/road car.

What about the sport cup 2? I know they are more track oriented and a pretty short tread life but i only put about 5k on the car a year anyway.

Several issues really

If you go with a shock that is designed for drag racing, the rear end will squat down more easily and help with traction, but then you won't have the lateral support you want for the curves.

Same problem with going to a drag radial. Good for straight lines, not so much for cornering.

I think a lot of people (me included) face this dilemma with these cars when making decent power. My car has magnaride, so Im not really interested in messing with the suspension too much, so really my only option to increased traction while not reducing lateral grip is to go with a 200 tw extreme performance summer. Still wont hook up as well as a drag radial would, but will handle the turns like a boss, and hopefully won't get me killed if I have to drive in the rain. (barely rains here anymore anyway).

My car came with the Cup 2's on it, and they drive like dogshit. Im looking at the Bridgestone RE71RZ's, and maybe the Hoosier Track Attack Pro's. Possibly the Eagle F1 Supercar 3's just to take advantage of the 25% USAA discount (actually a 220 TW tire)

I'll have to look into this 200tw thing. Never heard of that

200 Tread Wear rating. For example, the PS4S is a 300 Tread wear tire. The lower the rating, the stickier the tire but then of course the shorter the lifespan. It isn't the only factor in how well a tire grips (the exact compound recipe's for manufacturers are a highly guarded secret) so a cheap 300 tw tire won't grip as well as a PS4S.

A cup 2 is actually a 180 Tread wear tire, but in my experience they just aren't very streetable. They tramline like crazy, they suck in the wet, and they need some heat in them for any decent grip.

Ok Cool. I'll look into some different tires and sounds like i can go with a basic shock upgrade. I heard the Ford racing ones are decent, or would i be better off with something aftermarket?

I'd have to defer that question to the suspension experts in here. Unless your shocks are worn out/leaking, Im not sure a shock upgrade is going to make much difference in the traction department

I was on 315 PS4S and No matter what you do they will not work.. you need drag radials to have any chance of hooking up. I just switched to weld Ventura’s and Mickey Thompsons.

I corner with 305/45/17 555RII's just fine. That is overblown in my opinion. Now, I don't have skinnies up front and that is key. I also am on a lowering spring and in a few days I will have the J&M rear vertical links installed on an otherwise stock rear suspension.

I’m no help. But was looking for similar tire to increase grip and still have drivability. Where I’m at you need to travel to get to the highway. And most are twisties/backroads to get there. Plus it rains hard AF here at times and summers it can get 40 out in the morn/overnights. So even a good summer tire is out. So, I’m pretty limited to an AS tire. Dws06+ 285s with 7-800HP does not work in a straight line. But I’m not racing and prefer fast twisties and punching it on highway. They did great on track though. The magneride has been nice for that. I’m gonna watch and see what you end up with for your tire. I may end up getting some drag fatties to put out back for when I do get out to some roads I can enjoy the jump on.

Summer tires are doable if its only dropping to 40 overnight. R2s would work as well. You'll sacrifice some grip until they are warmed up with either but unless the temps are staying that low/ lower all day the tire will be fine. Ive used both year round with mornings getting down in the low 30s even some high 20s during the winter.
