Dark Horse SC, who's adding one, who's replacing with one, what will it do to GT500 values?

I know pricing and HP isn't out yet, but I'm wondering who's thinking of getting one? If so, will it be in addition to, or replacing the GT500?

It seems to me that the GT500 didn't affect the GT350 values much or at all. I think that's because they behave differently with one being DCT/FI vs manual/NA. Looks like the Dark Horse SC is just the S650 version of the same car, albeit with no Shelby tie in and a very stupid (IMHO) name.

Well, I don't believe they made the gas tank bigger, and that's the main problem with the GT500. Thirsty with a small jug. So I'll probably pass. Nice car, just not nice enough move into one from the GT500.

Fair point, nobody likes small jugs.

I'll be keeping my 21 for sure. I think it made the prices go up on the GT500. Never been a better time to get one than now.

I don’t think this is a realistic question yet.

Both issues (pricing and power rating) are absolutely necessary to know be for a decision can be made.

The real question is:

When will Ford release power and pricing info?

If one has a Gt500, and especially a Cftp, just don’t see the appeal. Same car without the visual appeal. I’m biased obviously.
I can see how you're biased, but when you're right, you're right!
That's just logic.

I think they’re both nice looking cars, but the interior of the DH SC is a huge downgrade from the GT500. The touch screen climate controls, the lack of toggle switches, and that fake carbon fiber around the center console are all horrible.

I’m actually ok with the SC’s styling, with the exception of the front bumper cover. Dropped the ball there a little. Now if I wanted a new top spec mustang I’d probably be interested. The caveat there being the price. Like so many I have a real hard time with the dash. It’s not just the mustang though. I just got my new 26F550 service truck. Ford did the same with it’s dash. It’s very simplistic, almost juvenile, but being a service truck it’s not a big deal for me. The rest has been upgraded for sure though. I don’t think Ford had any other choice but to come out with a new variant. It’s essential to the mustang line. But to be fair, Ford knocked it out of the park with both the 350 and 500 in the s550 platform, and that’s without a doubt a very hard act to follow and even improve upon. I would much rather they did come out with the new SC then nothing at all.

Agreed. Of course the new car will outperform the 2020 car. But will it be by so much as to cause owners to switch? I guess we will see. But I kinda doubt it.

One thing is for sure - the 2020 car is a looker. The new one? I guess it could grow on me. But it’s not there yet.

The Shelby’s really seem to hold their value. The Dark horse? I don’t see it holding value anywhere near as well.

But I don’t buy cars to sell them. I buy cars to enjoy them.

Do again, let’s see those power numbers as well as how much Ford is asking us to sacrifice our hard earned income for this thing.

I like to disassemble things.
I have never liked the S650 or Dark Horse until now. I absolutely love the DH SC. When I see the front fascia on it I see a much angrier look. To me it makes the GT500 look soft, GT350 too. The hardware it comes with is upgrades galore for a 500 owner looking to make some performance improvements as well.

I too, struggle with the laptop dash on the S650. And the hips on it seem a bit odd in comparison to ours. I think I can get beyond those two caveats in search of greater performance potential but am stuck on price. I'm unwilling to accept 140-150k if that proves to be the range for the top dog. Our 500's will have become a heck of a performance value in comparison.

I'm eager to see power and pricing but think I'll continue to enjoy what I have. I also can't wait to see just what parts are an ea$y swap.
