My AC died for the 3rd time this summer. Want to guess, HP hose or Compressor?

Which do you think it will be? The HP hose or Compressor?

Why do these parts fail nonstop? Is there any real fix other than just replacing the same old part? What is the cause of these failures? Heat? Vibrations? RPM? Crappy suppliers?

What failed and what were the fixes in the two previous instances?

2 HP hoss and compressor.

Currently I think I'm on the 4th HP and 3rd compressor over the last two summers.

That you've experienced similar failures...leaves me thinking they didn't flush and evacuate the system correctly in the first instance, failed to assemble something correctly, didn't add oil, didn't find the root cause, etc. Unfortunately, there are a lot of possibilities.

IDK the situation, but I hope the last work is on warranty. Or you have options to go somewhere else. :please:

I had tons of work done and it was all bad diagnosis from the dealership never leak testing the evaporator properly. Evaporator was defective from the factory.

At this point, even when I see someone say it's the compressor, I believe it's an evaporator leak and the compressor and/or clutch died from running low for so long.

Replace the entire system with new.

BTW, If anyone broke the tabs on the upper dash grill on dash disassembly during evap replacement, I have a brand new one in the for sale section.

Seems like the OP had a few opportunities for shop stuff to go south unfortunately.

Has anybody looked in to which manufacturer supplies Ford the parts for the ac systems? The same parts can end up in different box’s from the same manufacturer. I’d be curious of the actual run on the questionable parts as well.

And stop using Ford parts.

I must be doing something wrong because I haven’t replaced my air-conditioning yet after eight years and 30,000 miles.🤷‍♂️

I'm interested in where the failure occurred with the hose. High pressure hose failures are not common, especially from bursting. Usually they fail in the crimping sections, o-ring issues, or cross threading.
I took apart a compressor just to see how they work, and they appear to be tough. It may be a better design than the old 2 piston reciprocating compressors from the older Ford cars I have owned or drove.
And then, we've seen issues with Ford's suppliers and/or the process the technician(s) made in previous repair attempts. I never liked the flat rate dealerships use. We could go on forever with that one...
If possible, bring the car to another dealership and file a complaint through Ford's district and beyond.

It's all been covered under the ESP so far. I have 69K miles. There was no warning just got in and hot was blowing. I didn't have the super charger sound or loud noise like in the pass for the compressor.
