Mine sounded the same and then some. It was alrdy on it way out. New one installed with parts warranty. All good nowWorking on my GT350 and they just had to recharge the compressor with Freeon and now it’s making this noise. Any ideas what’s causing this? I don’t temper it making this noise before it was worked on.
$1088 for just the compressor? RockAuto has the motorcraft compressor, stated as compatible for the GT350, for $475. You might cross-reference the Ford OEM part to the Motorcraft part to see if you can save $600. Maybe the $1088 includes lines, dryer, condenser, etc.?Im having the same issue right now... the part is $1088, plus labour
this is where I found it, anything else needed besides it?$1088 for just the compressor? RockAuto has the motorcraft compressor, stated as compatible for the GT350, for $475. Edited: Sorry, I see you're in Canada. Don't know if that affects pricing or availability from RockAuto.
Yeah, for swapping out the compressor you will also need to replace the one-time use studs that hold the compressor to the engine block, probably a new stretch belt, I'd replace the drier (accumulator), the expansion valve, you'll need compressor oil, refrigerant, and a vacuum pump to pull a vacuum/check for leaks when it is all back together before charging it. I would also replace the o-rings on the high/low pressure lines where they connect to the compressor and the o-rings at connections to the expansion valve. Might also be a good idea to replace the service valves in the low/high pressure lines.this is where I found it, anything else needed besides it?
