Sorry to hear of the troubles, but if there were that many visible issues with the vehicle even before deciding to buy - it should have been a clear sign to "pass".

Hopefully Dealer works it out and sets things right.

Hope everything gets better for you and it sucks that a ford dealership is doing you this way, I've learned to expect it from a Chevy dealer which is why I stopped buying Chevy.

Before going much further I would try contacting your LOCAL ford rep. You can call the Ford 800 number and ask for the local rep and let them know that's who you want to deal with. Usually they will take down some info and the local rep will call you back.

This is why customer service and quality control has gone by the wayside. No one want to fight to hold people accountable for promises or commitments made. I am fortunate and have a great dealership to work with but not everyone is as lucky.

I say stick to your guns and hold them to their word. The BBB is a powerful resource. I have used it in the past with positive results.
What is the great dealership?

Those bumper tabs.....man, they are weak. There's another thread on that somewhere. And I had a broken tab. Basically you can't do anything but replace the whole thing, unless you really want to glue it. I think those parts are made super weak. Mine was the last tab at the edge where it meets the fender. And then I went thru a whole ordeal with that because the painter did not use the proper 3 step process for Ruby Red.

Sounds like Ford is really cheaping out on these cars.

Did we ever find out if this is indeed a Ford dealership or just a "fly by night" used car lot? If this is a Ford dealership I would be very dissapointed. The "we owe" sheet is a legally binding contract and it sounds like they did additional damage working on an item from that list. With that in mind shouldn't they make it right? Buying a used car is a crap shoot and I am also another person that has never gone there.

Update, so after starting the arbitration process they decided to do the right thing. The work is not being performed by them but by a very reputable body shop in my area. Spoke with the body shop owner a couple minutes ago. The dealer has a new bumper and performance pack valance on order and they should be in this week. Body shop says only 3 days to get the work done. Seems once the general manager of the dealership got my certified letter heads started to roll and stuff started getting done. I am glad I didn't just settle for the quick fix. Ready to get the car looking as good as some on here. On a good note, my wife got me the Corsa extreme cat back. Got it on and haven't turned the radio on since. The car sounds amazing.

OP no disrespect... u do deserve the car in perfect shape..but buying a performance car used is much bigger gamble .. this is just superficial... u have no idea whats right or wrong in the hood... why was it sold.. how was it tuned... how much.. exploited .. as it has hood scratches.. bumper and shit ... all these symptoms are of badly used track car...

I spoke with the original owner. He hit someone's mailbox while playing in the rain. This by no means s my first mustang, I have owned at least 6 since I was 18 and I am now 33. I know what to look for. This car was bought brand new in Miami and the guy lost his job two weeks after. He was up front with me about what happened and hated to lose the car. I did my research on the car before I bought it. There was never a tune on the car. And it was never tracked just a little street fun here and there. And the bumper issue didn't come about until the dealer broke it replacing the headlight.

It is being repaired and I did not want them to do the work because of the experience I had with the headlight installation and bumper being broke. Besides this dealership does not have a body shop.

there is a video over in the GT350 section someone bragging about breaking in their new GT350 by doing donuts in the parking lot. Even posted video, with smoke clouds coming off the tires. He is also an owner of a Hellcat, so he's probably has a fat wallet. Or used to. I asked he could post his cylinder head temps while doing that but it got no response.

in any case, a smart used car buyer can still get a good deal, if they know how to shop, check for accident damage / paint respray, put the car on a lift for inspection, etc. Some internals will remain an unknown but that can be accounted for by getting a good price on the used car.
