Well you have to compare MSRP to MSRP. I could change this and say you work for Chevy and get their comparable plan vs a GT at MSRP.

If I didn't work for one of the companies I would be comparing MSRP to MSRP. But I do so I compared the thing that mattered the most to me... what I would be paying at the dealership(also coworkers would stop bothering me to buy a Ford after three and a half years).

It sounds like you put way too much stock in what other people think. It's ok to enjoy what you have even if it's not "the best" which is impossible to quantify anyways.

nope, i don't care what other people think actually. it's what i think that matters most. like someone said earlier, for some people, me included, performance matters most. not the way it looks.

if i cared about what other people think about my car, i woulda bought some euro luxo car, or something along those lines.

Well here's the thing...do you know the refresh date and timetable? Just asking. You don't have to reveal anything. But from my view and keeping up with most auto companies, most are on a 3rd year refresh schedule now.

Real work does take time. They've been working on the transmission years. Fascia refresh is not a lot of time. I do think that the Camaro coming out and the reviews are getting has to make the Mustang team anxious and want to come out with some nice updates.

Whats your definition of 'major' refresh? Some view that as only things like the body to freshen the design.

Others think it's more engine or transmission.

I tend to think both, but it can be either, depending on the degree of change.

Example:
S197 2010MY body refresh
S197 2011MY 5.0L/3.7L intro

Both major, but most OEMs tend to pair some of each in refreshes. An update such as the S197 one above is pretty unusual. For performance cars, you tend to see the focus of refreshes on the powertrain/chassis improvements, and relatively minor updates to fascias, headlights/taillights to give visually-focused buyers something new to chew on. On non-performance cars, you will often see no significant powertrain/chassis updates outside of subsystem changes for improved fuel economy or reliability, but will see styling changes.

For the Mustang, expect the former, with improvements to engine power, transmissions, fuel economy, handling as well as some styling changes/new options.

I think that is obvious that Ford will be answering since the 6G Camaro came out..

The thing he isn't saying is if it will be '17 MY which is fall of 2016 or '18 MY which is fall of 2017.

To me it's a long time to wait, and there's always going to be better out there. If you wait, you'll never enjoy. I have no regrets with getting my 2015 even when at the time of purchase, I knew the mid-cycle refresh would have things I'd love to have. It's still an amazing machine and I enjoy it every day.

If it were me, and I wasn't planning to buy till 2017 (calendar year), yes, I'd wait for the 2018MY. I wouldn't stop yourself getting a '16 if you're in the market now. The improvements are incremental and significant, but I wouldn't say transformational like the S550 platform is over the S197.

It was known for a long time that the Camaro was switching platforms and was losing a good bit of weight. Why didn't you just wait for it to come out?

Or why not buy a 4th gen fbody and put ebay headers on it ? You'll be neck and neck with a s550 for less than $3k
