At Barrett Jackson Las Vegas I noticed they had the new Camaro on display and there was no one around that car. The crowd was gathered around the Ford display with the GT350 and the little focus cars. There was no buzz or people taking pictures of the Camaro in the 1 hr I was in that room looking at the other cars. We'll see how they do sales wise.

I'm still reading through the entire thread and the only disappointment I have with the GT stang is the manual transmission. It's obviously the worst manual trans of the three (challenger/camaro etc..)

I'm coming from Audi S4/Lexus GS 350 and I plan to grab either a GT (maybe GT350), SRT 392, or 2SS Camaro next year when my lease is up. I want to own an AMerican V8 before the EPA makes them go away and frankly the new generation of these cars are flat out impressive all the way around.

The GT would be a no brainer for me if the manual trans wasn't junk from what I can tell. Clutches being stuck, lots of tranmission noise, shifts that are not preceise etc... Read the forums and you can see the complaints. VS. the 2ss manual has just been noting but praised. That one piece holds me back.

Otherwise I prefer the looks of the Challenger/Mustang (for different reasons) and love the performance/features of the 2ss. Right now I have no clue which of the 3 I will get.

I also wouldn't want to daily drive the GT350. I'd be putting at least 10k miles on the car and it doesn't seem like it would be a fun daily.

Coming in late to this thread but my .02

This car is just fine the way it is. I bought it because I like the styling, the options and the overall feel of the car. I don't give a crap about any other car, certainly not the Camaro. If I wanted any other car I would've bought it, so they can build a $30K Camaro that puts 1000hp to the wheels (hypothetical, because I know someone's going to take me seriously) and I'd still drive my Mustang.

This seemed like as a good of a random place to put this as anywhere ...

[...] a digital gauge cluster like the F-150 has [...]
I'm surprised (unless I'm missing it somewhere? I've only had my car for 10 days) that the really nice driver information display doesn't have an option for a digital speedo. It's a nice, easy to read display, it has all sorts of really peripheral info, but nothing simple like MPh (or RPM for that matter).

Sun, glare, accuracy, convenience - just seems like an obvious omission with all the other tech/gauges/displays onboard. :)

I can see an argument for that if it were something that added an extra measure of safety or helped combat driver distraction. But as a disappointment, nah. Just my opinion though. I do like that it gives you a digital speedo for cruise control as that helps me to avoid tickets ;)

Oh yeah, it's in no way a disappointment! More like a 'aw shucks' :D

Loving the car so far. First Mustang (and first ford), and so far it's exceeding my expectations - these cars are a _steal_ for the level of performance and whatnot.

Until you go out and test drive the car, you cannot rely on forum hearsay and base your choices on some people's opinions.

How is the transmission junk when it can hold over 700hp?

The 2SS can get all the praise it wants but it is still ugly as fak...

I own a 2012 and yeah I'm not sure why the MT-82 gets a bad rap. I mean the transmissions are made by a reputable company. Getrag makes transmissions for luxury OEM's like BMW, Landrover Etc...

Now is it perfect? No
Is it harder to shift when cold? Yes, but to my experience they all do that.

I had to learn the characteristics of the transmission but that goes for any car. Once you get the hang of it, It is a good transmission.

Maybe you are just a noob at driving a manual. I have a whipple SC and my stock clutch is holding up fine. My car actually shifts better than any manual I have driven in the past.

I had a Toyota and a VW. Both were very tough to get into first when it was cold. When they warmed up, different story. I just figure that's how many transmissions are.
I like the way the MT82 shifts. Just me.

Just my two cents. From an all around stand point, it is great and I like the direction. As a racing guy that frequents the track and scene, and aa huge mustang/Ford guy, I don't think they did enough performance wise. GM made weight a primary issue, and did an awesome job. They are making big power numbers and low weight. Do I think power is a disappointment from the 5.0 compared to the gm motor? No. But we have always have the weight advantage. I just simply think Ford didn't do enough with this car on the performance front. The interior and exterior win imo hands down, but that is honestly not all I want out of my mustang. I know that doesn't mean sales, yes I remember when the slower mustangs outsold the camaro. Just for me personally I care about performance numbers. I just think Ford could have done more. And I hope they come back in 2017 with a badass transmission and power boost that this chassis can handle. Unfortunately most platforms tend to gain weight instead of lose it which is why I'm kind of disappointed in Ford right now. Still love the car so don't hate on me, just being honest!

My '15 PP lemoned out, but I still replaced it with a '16 rather than going elsewhere. This one is an auto and I really love both. .

Why did you switch to an auto with the 2016 model? Was your 2015 lemoned because of problems you had with the manual transmission?
