  1. $1,000+ a month for new vehicles: Car payments "look more like mortgage payments"

Prices have been starting to level out a bit. If we hit a bit of a recession maybe we will get down to MSRP regularly on all new cars. But still some months away before that possibility. Reposssed cars and missed payments are up. As those Cars hit the marketplace of used maybe that will slow...
  2. $1,000+ a month for new vehicles: Car payments "look more like mortgage payments"

That’s my point though. A lot of the “cult” of Ramsey followers think using it as charge card is bad. And Amex is still a charge card if you don’t activate the pay schedule. I still get emails all the time about activating that feature for a large bucket Of bonus points. Haven’t done it and...
  3. $1,000+ a month for new vehicles: Car payments "look more like mortgage payments"

Nah it’s more me .When I hear Ramsey in a thread I shake my head and cringe inside. one his advice is from a time when rates on home were like 8-12% and two it’s just flat out bad advice UNLESS you are somebody who can’t control his spending. For example he preaches CCs are bad the reality is...
  4. $1,000+ a month for new vehicles: Car payments "look more like mortgage payments"

Most cars are 2-3%. Car interest still cheap I’d rather invest the cash than pay $50-60k for a car - and I do which is why i have rental properties brining in money. Far better uses for capital.
  5. C8 Z06 spied at Milford Proving Grounds, a new flat plane crank has joined the chat

Given how limited C8 is right now - It's going to take a long time for that to happen. I bought an 18 Z06 M7 for $67k full PPF in march last year before prices sky rocketed. I think it's going to be a bit before C7 Z06 gets to a more normalized market between chips and limited C8 production...
  6. Tis a sad day that I wish was an April fools joke.

What did you pay for it now? It's a recent model. If you paid say ~40k, you could probably argue for it to be valued near 35k. It sucks because you are likely to be borderline but they will want to fix it - so you'll need to fight to push for a total.
  7. Down payment

So i know I'm late to the party and you decided to hold on. The only thing I'd add is before your next car you should spend some time learning about personal finances in general - all of the above cars is completely dependent on the individual and I don't mean just personal preference. For...
  8. New home

Can't comment on the clubs but you are in a good spot for muscle cars. I'll say this as much as you like the weather now you'll probably be hating it come Winter. I like cold but my wife hates it.
  9. Guess what? Motortrend favors the Camaro again

Not really thrilled with the idea of spending $50k and immediately voiding the powertrain warranty. It's something I've considered but to me it just says theres a gap in the trims. I definitely think the mustang is the better looking car and since the refresh every bit as close in...
  10. Guess what? Motortrend favors the Camaro again

ADM for sure but giveen GT350 price point you really think GT500 will start any lower than $68-72kbase? It just seems unlikely to price close to the 350 in which case its going to be a good deal more than a ZL1.
  11. Guess what? Motortrend favors the Camaro again

Crazy thread. So much angst on both sides. Coming from german cars, I never would have considered a Mustang or Camaro until this generation except for the GT500 or ZL1. Both companies have built a great crop of cars this generation. I've been away from "fun cars" for about 2 years but as I...
  12. Almost 60K for Loaded 2018 GT

Also Chevy has had to introduce big rebates/msrp discounts to get them moving. A $50k + mustang is approaching the next tier of cars. Should the GT really be cross shopped at a similar price point as the hellcat/zl1?
  13. Leather Seat Upkeep

Keep in mind it's not real leather. Everybody has their preference but in terms of protecting leather I'm a huge fan of 303 aerospace protectant. People use it on boats in particular to protect the "fake" leather so to speak and it works well. Other benefit is you can use it on the dash and...
  14. Almost 60K for Loaded 2018 GT

Wife approval would be my guess. I haven't looked in detail at magnaride but I'm guessing they have a touring option? On my S4 it was noticeably more "luxurious" ride and made my wife happier.
  15. Almost 60K for Loaded 2018 GT

Or a zl1.... or hellcat.... This is why the pricing is so odd.
  16. Anyone regret getting a manual?

Eh I guess you could say that he knew what he was getting but I don't think it's wrong to say he wished the car had a better manual. It's really not a great manual compared to many out there. though. It's just frustrating, I happily would have paid $1,000 more to get a tremec in there.
  17. Almost 60K for Loaded 2018 GT

The problem is the 18 has even gone above the Camaro and when you factor in that Chevy began offering discounts essentially immediately the GT might just be overpriced. A loaded 2ss is basically selling for 5-7k off. Even the 1LE can be had for 2-3,000 off which is a new release. IT's...
  18. Anyone regret getting a manual?

Honestly the manual trans on this car is the one thing that may keep me from getting the Mustang. I've been looking at everything from Hellcat to Camaro ZL1/1LE and back again to GT. Overall I prefer the balance/looks of the mustang. Originally wanted an auto but realized weekend only car and...
  19. Totally confused! Buffers, polishers and what the heck to do with a new car!

Blackfire Total Polish is what I would recommend. Its a nice polish use it once maybe twice a year and then use crystal sealant every 2 months. Meguires ultimate compound works for actual paint correction.
  20. Totally confused! Buffers, polishers and what the heck to do with a new car!

Going to second backfire products. The backfire crystal seal paint sealant is unbeatable for the finish it adds to car - lasts a good two month, easy to apply and make the paint look freshly waxed all the time. There are many products I can recommend but the top one without any doubt is the...
