I hope the bare block will be available. That way we could spec the internals ourselves.

Call FFtec. They use our cylindersupportsystem process and can build to your specifications. Most like cheaper also.

This thread makes me sleepy ;) . Mahle manufactured 4032 pistons from what I saw at SEMA. I know why they used 4032, but it isn't going to be ideal for guys looking to make big power.

4032 Mahle's are known for failing at about 450whp on Subaru's. They are a softer piston so it will be quieter and I think that is what they were going for. They tend to last a little longer on lower power vehicles
Head scratcher if correct. I can't see them mass producing these without rigorous testing at 600+ levels. Any links stating these are in fact the 4032's.

If the stock pistons are said to be safe at 450, it would seem stupid of FRPP to not put stronger than stock ones in the Aluminator.

I'd just recommend buying a shortblock from FORD and having MAP sleeve it. It will be the better option over getting a "block brace" or running the stock sleeves on a big build.

Why would they push 600whp? Ford is going to sell you a block that supports more power than factory, not a big power build.

Ford doesn't rate the stock pistons to 450hp, they are giving you something better than stock when you purchase this block. That is if it ever becomes available. Plus, what is the point in buying this block anyways. They aren't going to warranty it and it will for sure be more than what a proper 600whp built shortblock will run you.

I just threw that # out there. But that's what they do. Sell crate engines for big power builds, and some with a warranty. Too much speculation at this point since Ford Performance hasn't released much info on this one.

Cylindersupportsystem.com can do just a block or a custom build.

Our process is guaranteed to 500hp and this block with CSS will comfortably handle 800whp.

We have 1.8l stock cyl Honda blocks running 900+whp with great success. And the 2.3l ecoboost is a much stronger platform.

I am more interested in a control pack so I can do my Fox Body Ecoboost swap.

A little more info: http://www.stangtv.com/features/sem...-performance-uncages-the-2-3-lieter-ecobeast/

Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine has taken off with more popularity than the Blue Oval could have imagined. These cars are popular with consumers and are even inspiring racers and enthusiasts nationwide, including our own StangTV project car.

A big question for EcoBoost enthusiasts and those on the outside has been about the engine’s durability. It’s easy enough to add more boost, but the block design of the 2.3 encounters many of the same issues as that of its 3.5-liter cousin. Under high boost, high RPM, the cylinder bores could shift. Another question with regard to durability is that of the internal components. While the 2.3 utilizes a forged crankshaft, the factory rods and pistons remain weaker cast parts.

For the hardcore enthusiasts and races looking to build a 2.3 EcoBoost in a rear wheel drive application, whether its for a Mustang or classic Ford Performance, the answer has just arrived in the form of Ford’s all new EcoBeast short block.

“It’s only that we have the production engines, the next step is to take it to the next level,” says Ford’s Mike Delahanty. The EcoBeast has the bore bridge saw-cut eliminate to strengthen the block’s deck area. Then there are cross-drilled cylinder cooling passages below the deck bridge. The cylinders are fully honed to OEM specifications, and the setup uses a Livernois Motorsports coolant jacket and deck reinforcement insert, similar to what Livernois developed for the 3.5 EcoBoost engine.

“This is for enthusiasts who want to make big power with a lot of boost,” says Delahanty. The work doesn’t stop there, with the EcoBeast also receiving Mahle forged pistons good for 9.5:1 compression ratio, Manley Forged rods with ARP2000 rod bolts, and ARP main beam studs in place of bolts for increased thread engagement and strength.

Ford hasn’t said how much horsepower the EcoBeast is good for, but we’d wager it’s going to be well over the 600-700 range. The 2.3-liter EcoBeast is part number M6009-23EB and will be available in the spring of 2016.

Ah that's what Livernois was hinting towards a few months ago.

So is anyone else between going this route and trading for the V8 in a few years? Seems this would be the cheaper route rather than buying a new car

I'm curious as to how much longer the v8 will be in production with all this ecoboost stuff happening with ford. Just look at there f150's finding a V8 in them is getting harder and harder. Most dealers around my way didn't even have any in stock.

We spoke to Ford Global Powertrain Technology Communications Manager, Paul Seredynski, who told us that there's "No basis of truth in that report." I pulled this from another site that had an interview, and questioned these rumors.
