I keep seeing youtube vids and articles about the Fiesta ST being better than the focus, I mean there are car dudes that review all kinds of cars and they think that jellybean looking fiesta st is the bees knees.

as far as mustang vs focus the focus is the clear winner for a daily driver/versatile imo, however most of us just don't want a hatchback...it doesn't exactly scream a badass car.

We've got both as shop cars and I've got to say that they each shine in their own way. What this article fails to leave out is how similar the engines are. The 2.3 in the Mustang shares a lot in common with the smaller 2.0 of the FoST. They are both really fun cars to drive that can return respectable MPGs even when pushed hard.

Haven't driven either, was never big on hatchbacks. I just couldn't believe how many reviewers were harping on how awesome the fiesta was lol.

I had one as a rental while my car was being worked on (just oil change). It wasn't an ST but it was the lamest car I have ever and will ever sit in

I've seen members on the Fiesta ST forum leave after buying a Focus ST, and then come back after a few months with a new Fiesta ST. The added weight of the Focus ST makes it less nimble than the Fiesta ST.

Both are great cars though, honestly, Ford really hit a home run with those two

I assumed the light weight part is one of the biggest factors but my neon srt4 was 2700 lbs and I made 350whp and 400 wtq and it was pretty freakin fast and nimble but the toque steer was bad and no traction in 1st and 2nd.

I own both. The 2015 Focus ST is my daily Driver and the Ecostang is my weekend ride. To me they feel completely different. The ST is ideal for daily driving in crowded Germany because it has awesome throttle response, corners very quickly and sounds very nice. Fitting 4 passengers into the ST is also no problem. I just love this car. The Fiesta ST is also a lot of fun but I would never trade my Focus for one. The Focus to me is just the better car in every aspect (though a lot more expensive).

Finding a parking spot in the city with the Mustang is really challenging and no fun at all. I am still in breaking in period of the Ecostang (the ST took about 3.000 km to really wake up) but right now, the ST feels quicker - I hope this will change though once the Ecostang is broken in. The Mustang obviously feels a lot heavier. Cruising on the Autobahn is just way too much fun though.

Oh yeah and gas mileage of the two are around the same. I got nothing to complain. I love em both.

My buddy has a 2015 focus ST with a cobb ots tune and an intake and catback exhaust it's pretty quick but not faster then my tune only ecoboost mustang. It's a cool car to get around in but it's still a focus lol

I have issues w/ legroom in the Focus that I don't have in either the Mustang or Fiesta. Stupid console design like the Taurus.

I'm not that tall/big either...not some crazy outlier. The interior designers need to get their heads out of their asses and consider function over form. They finally got it right w/ the Mustang, maybe there's hope.

Wrong wheel drive... I just can't stand it. No matter how refined the handling is or any other reason it's the best, it sucks to drive a car that never gets traction.

If those cars just looked a little more grown-up I could've saved a bunch of money and not gotten the Mustang after all. The GTI says kids car to me too and it looks way more mature than the Ford hot hatches. Although I know those are a big part of what Ford does and I hope they stick around for a very long time

I was 19 once but am no longer. That wacky looking stuff like the new Civic R used to appeal to me but not anymore.

Motortrend (Quite possibly worse than jalop at automotive writing and comparisons) did it first, then DRIVE did it. All the comments at the bottom seem to read the same. Ie, Focus is for immature kids, and the 4 banger stang is for posers.

Some people just never learn. I'll take my 4 banger to the track, getting 33 mpg highway on the way there. Smoke your nose heavy V8, or porsche or whatever. Then get 33 mpg on the way home on the highway.

But the one thing that always gets me. Why do all these comparo's test the loaded premium heavy cars? get the stripper model 4 banger in there and win something. geez!
