I got my lockout kit from BMR over the weekend and couldnt wait to install them Monday.

Installation was pretty tough but not impossible, now with only one jack and a bunch of jack stands??? It will be much harder that way. Suspension parts are always hard to install, if someone tells you otherwise they are a mechanic genius.

now onto the riding experience. I got this to eliminate wheel hop on my 417RWHP Pony. I did not get it for any other purpose than to be quicker to 60mph than my asshat friend with a 2014 Stingray.

I got my tires warm and tried a few 0-60 0-100 times. Didnt use a watch or the apps since I was doing the test to feel how the hop has changed. Ill do times today or tomorrow. I drop the clutch out at 3000 rpms and hear that glorious squeal of rubber I have not heard since trading in my old FWD Jetta with 270ft lbs of diesel torque. My face so happy hearing a burn out and not a bounce bounce shock.

I played around with the rpms and found out I do still have wheel hop at high clutch drops. Would say 70% or more less. Now shifting into 2nd at 6999 rpms I get 99-100% reduction in wheel hop, let me say it again no wheel hop at 2nd gear 0 hop going into 3rd.

Now I was a little bummed it didnt take all of the hop away with my Extreme Performance street tires but I knew I set the bar too high and im not going to dd drag radials. BUT! after playing around in a giant empty parking lot I can tell you this IS NOT A DRAG MOD solely. IT IS A GREAT TRACK MOD, I stuck and accelerated through turns and corners like i have never before. OH MY GOD it stuck to corners. I was amazed that it performed better in track application than straight line like what I bought it for. i give this 5 out 5 stars and would bet I can out perform any other stand in a corner *that doesnt have a heavy amount of suspension mods. For the price and pain to install i still give this 5 stars.

Wow - awesome man! Thanks for the review!

Enjoy! If you don't already have the BK054 Diff Lockout - I suggest grabbing it to finish it off back there. For $49.95, it's hard to beat!

This is the Guy who asked for an email right after I called you. Donald. Thanks for all the help. And the input, couldnt be happier with this mod. Short of riding on just a solid piece of steel or doing all of the suspension upgrades wheel hop cant be stopped but in terms of hop to when I have traction like 2000-2500 rpm range I get all grip no spin no hop.

So the CB005 seems to have very little negative NVH. What's the impact on that for the BK054?

My suspension is stock, and to be honest the car scares me a bit if I turn off the traction control. So I'd like to do something about it. The CB005 seems about right for me, but for $50, if there's not a noticeable impact on NVH, I'd do the BK054 as well at the same time.

Also, do you guys recommend installers? (I'm in Cherry Hill, NJ, 08002)

$50 for parts, install will be alot. If you dont have an extra pair of hands and a garage full of jack stands id recommend a professional installation. The cradle lockout will be your best bet. It is reversible, the other imo is not so much because that cost to undo it is too high.

Havnt done the diff lockout so ill keep my mouth shut now.

I have to put my car back on a lift because my lockout kit seems to have made my wheel hop worse, not better. There must be something wrong with the install my shop did. Everyone else has good results with the lockout kit so it has to be something on my end.

Are you trying higher rpms drops? Did you get new tires too? Thats so strange.

Same launches as before. Nothing extreme. Usually between 3 and 4k. The hop is faster and more violent. Car also seems to shimmy side to side a little more. I got an alignment to make sure everything was straight and it was spot on, so I just gotta get on a lift and inspect it myself to see what's going on.

I recently installed the cb005 kit on my car and am also impressed at the overall feel of the rear now under hard acceleration. Regarding NVH though, since installing I'm hearing a new sound when I go over bumps on the passenger side that wasn't there before. I'm assuming something just needs to settle as I've put the car on a lift and everything is tight and where it's supposed to be.

Something's definitely wrong. I have the kit as well. Sounds like they forgot a bolt or two... Get some pics under there, I'll try to see if there's anything missing.

What exactly did you find so difficult about the install? I plan on doing this on jack stands so it would be nice to know how to make the job easier. Thanks

Well since the car is low and jacks only get it so high its just awkward to work for certain pieces. Second the part that bolts to the chassis has to 99% aligned to bolt in. So it just requires alot of crow bar jack pressure adjustment to get it to align. It's easy the idea but a struggle to implement. Wish I had tips. One tip is to work on one side at a time IMO.

I also want to update my review. The kit is still great but wheel hop on first gear is still prevalent. But its now easier to avoid and I can push my car alot harder without it but anything competitive will get your end bouncing still. It's a way better track mod IMO but still keeps the wheel down mostly. It's alot harder to break my rear lose now than before. Still 5/5 for pricing.

That shimy is a good sign sort of. Means you're spinning not hopping. Using launch control with this is kind of useless I've found. Because that clutch drop with all that power is just too much even with way more mods. But try it wit just using your timing. I can get to wot alot faster now than before without a bounce.
