El OH El!

That's just wrong! I gotta say, I like that car and if I had... Idonno, $100,000 with ONLY a car to buy and already had everything else I need in the whole world, I'd pay 65k for one! :D

I also thought the sedan was lighter too but recent weigh-in proved otherwise. It did have a sun roof but the sunroof BIW is actually a pound lighter so...

Either way, Caddy claims the ATS-V weighs 3700lbs leaving them open to comfortably claim 3750lbs. It could end up being more in reality.

The 2014 z28 was also claimed a little light. They say 3820lbs but the lightest AC delete z28 was Insidelines at 3839lbs. The other 2 weighed 3856,3857lbs by MT and R&T. The only AC equiped car weighed 3858lbs though. Somebody said it was 3820 with AC delete and 3870lbs with AC... AC doesn't add 50lbs though...

Shipping weight from a car company is based off there lightest model in its segment. So it will be base model with no options and one gal of gas. Now the only thing that might put a wrench in things is, the R model is lighter. So is this shipping weight based off the R? I guess we will find out soon.

Not the R, even the R will ship at 3512lbs based on the Base model theory.

Base model for 99% of cars made are the lightest, but that is not the case with the GT350. I'm sure soon we will get curb weights and that is the only way to find out for sure.

The R is not a model, it's just an option.

Don't sh!t yourself already, wait until the GT350 vs. z28 articles go live. I'm gonna hammer it...

There will only be one official curb weight, just as every other Mustang this Gen.

You don't need to wait for official curb weights, I told you what the R was going to weigh months ago. I figured the GT350TP (I think I said 3680)to be slightly under the GT and a 3570lbs GT350R was pretty safe.

All of my figures looked to be 20-30lbs too heavy.

Did Camaro6 figure out those MSRP's yet for this Gen? It's a big issue now isn't it? Just like the curb weights will be in a few short months.

I made it pretty clear where the 2016 SS's targets were at. The Base target spread was between $36,000 and $37,995. The first estimate received from Chevy was $36,500. I am under the impression it is with an $825 delivery.

That is roughly a $2000 dollar increase and not too shabby IMO.

One things for sure, there is no reason an MRC, Recaro's 1SS can't go head to head with the GT350. It's less than $8000 between the two...

Some people spend a significant chunk of time worrying about or speculating about a comparison between the gt350 and the z28. Nothing wrong with that! However both cars have performance capabilities that so far exceed my personal skill set that it's pretty much irrelevant in my little world. I know that on very rare occasion I may push my gt350 to 80% of it's abilities. At which time I will be exceeding my driving by about 10%.

If the Z28 is a slightly better car, that really won't affect the big, fat, giant, poop eating grin plastered across my face!!! If you are a highly skilled guy who tracks your car and are likely to run up against other really skilled drivers with z28's I get it! For me, I'm a mustang guy. This is, in my opinion, going to be the best mustang to date. Happy Happy!

I just pulled up the actual invoice for the 2015 GT350R that we're getting at the dealership I work for and it shows a shipping weight of 3566 lbs, so your theory is wrong, sorry to say.

Then I have no idea what's up. That would mean the Base GT350 is lighter and options are included in shipping weight.

That would mean any regular GT's shipping weight, including Performance Pack and Premium, is actually included in the shipping weight.

That is originally what I tried to tell people here, that the shipping weight is based on the actual weight of the unit moving.

We seen a GTPP weigh 3603lbs and I was told by the experts here that it was Base weight... and actual weights during transit didn't matter.

I always figured it was a precise process...

Thanks Brian!!!

It seems that 3512lbs may include those options. It also appears there are 3700lbs GTPP's being shipped.

This may be lighter than expected...

Your "One shipping weight fits all" theory was just shot down.

Looks like there are some sub-3705lbs GTPP's being shipped.

That would also mean I was correct about the GT's in general.

Doesn't really matter to me cause if an R is 3566 lbs, I'm gonna have a heckuva grin sporting my 3566 lb new friend.

It is also worth noting, actual and honest fuel levels dictate. I have seen previous Invoices list the exact amount of gallons added to the car being shipped as well as cost of that fuel.

The GT350 above had $40 in fuel added. Are GT350's shipped with fuel? Maybe to stop dealers from adding in cheap 87.

Another possibility is, the R is actually shipped under the Track Package weight. 3512 vs. 3566lbs is about what I expect the gap to be, around 55lbs.

That would be 3611lbs for the Base, 3665lbs for the TP and 3535lbs for the Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Close to my original guesses...
