I reached out to Viking today regarding the struts. Struts for the S550 are in development and should be available by November. They will also be releasing SN95 and S197 struts in the coming months (before the S550 struts).

That is big news!!

Was hoping this would be soon. Would love to pair up the Viking strut and the forthcoming BMR front-only spring.

Yes. The Warriors are the B258.

The Crusaders are the B358AM or AP.

If you have any questions, I assisted Viking with the development of them and can share whatever info you need, to an extent.
So what are the differences of these two shocks and what makes one a drag shock and the other a handling shock? Just curious

The warrior has slightly better valving of rebound but otherwise same shock. At least that's what I think Kelly told me yesterday. Hope I was paying attention lol.

Is anyone else getting rattling from the shocks? I have warriors installed and I'm getting rattling from the shaft/threaded end tapping against the upper strut mount. I think it's because it goes up and through at a slight angle. I have confirmed it is the shocks because when I swapped back to factory shocks the noise is gone.

Was referring more towards the crusaders. Bmr has listed on their website 2 crusaders, one is a drag pair and the other is a handling pair
Part numbers- b358am vs b358ap

He was probably referring to the AP/Handling Crusaders, not the Warriors.

Yup what nanashii said, only reason I ask is I like to do both autocross/ canyon driving but also like to run my car at the strip as well, didn't know if one would be a better overall shock

Oops, yes. Crusaders are the better shock. Well, have better rebound valving.

I'm a novice when it comes to this so please forgive what might be a stupid question....if they are to beneficial to the handling and make such a dramatic difference, wouldn't there be an issue with having the stock struts up front with the Vikings in the back? It seems like one would want a matched or complimentary set all the way around. Wouldn't you still get the bounciness from the stock fronts? Maybe even conflicting with the upgraded rears?

It's not so cut and dry. The stock rear shocks seem to be the ones struggling to handle the body motions more than the stock front struts. While it is definitely ideal to have matching components, until Viking starts selling their upgraded struts people are just going to have to upgrade where it's needed the most.

Have you ever fixed your rattling issue? If so how?

Negative. I am still working with BMR and Viking about this. I will keep everyone updated.

Review Update: I'm also getting noise from the Viking install like Jmeo. Tried a few things without much success (like getting an OEM style nut and setting the torque to Ford specs...22 lb.ft by the way). Great communication with BMR and Viking. They are aware and working on it.
