Glass...for years now. In the vert, the rear glass is not hard to clean either. I almost never see my glass rear window as my baby runs around "topless"!

thought so, because i parked next to an s197 just after that, i noticed it was glass. it was just odd that it was pulsating like it was plastic on the s550 at highway speeds.

Oh yea, the rear glass really pulsates with the top up at any speed above 35 with the windows down...that glass really bellows! My 2013 GT vert did the same thing. I can see how you could think it was plastic. I put the windows up before it starts to pulsate too much as I don't think that vibration is good for the folding top.

jesus u beat up an ecoboost for 2 months for 1000 bucks. that's a bargain. think of it that way. don't think of it as a "loss", but think of it as experience gained. at least now you don't have to live with regret and can sleep like a baby at night. that alone is priceless.
I did. I don't want to spin a loss as a win, though. I made a mistake and it's important to acknowledge and learn from mistakes. I'm trying to be a better man, and you don't get there by bullsh*tting yourself. I posted this story partly because other people might find it useful. Maybe they won't have to spend $1000 to discover the same thing.

The Ecoboost is a good motor, and makes for a good, well-balanced car. It may be one of the most balanced buys on the market right now. Reasonable power, fuel economy, handling, looks, price, etc... And if that's what you want, then buy it! But if you want a V8, deep down, then just buy the V8! Go used, if you must, to make the money work. I tried to be cheap, and wound up paying extra. Happens to a lot of cheapskates.

So to other folks: learn from my example! Don't do what I did. Buy what you want the first time.

Now I'm happy with the car, and I can pay it off before the end of the year, so I won't live with the debt for very long. People here and in the real world will continue to give me sh*t for what I did, and I deserve some of that. But it's done, now. And I'm happy with my manual V8 and fully intend to keep her for a very long time. She's a very good car.

The only piece of advice I can possibly offer you is that you cannot control what others do or say but you can control how you respond to it.

It matters not what others think about anything you do. You have one person (well, more when you count your family which is high priority as well) to make happy and the rest of 'em are just all the rest of 'em....

Love that GT because it is one hell of a car! :clap2:

This, though I see a guard GT on my way home some mornings. Most non-rentals I see are V6's, I don't even see too many Ecos though someone at my workplace has one now, I am not the only S550 now :)
saw my first non rental mustang yesterday during my last day in orlando. it was a magnetic GTPP with dark tint. it was a smoker's car, he was smoking in it, LOL.

The hell? I feel bad enough when I have to fart in my car. I'd never smoke in it.

couldn't believe it myself. we were on 535 at the light after hotel plaza blvd. his window was down and he was clearly smoking in it, then he threw the cigarette butt on the road and got on the I-4 towards tampa.

Well, if you're going to pollute the air, might as well pollute the ground too.

Smoke is nasty people.... just... quit.... already....
Smoker vs Non-smoker thread incoming.

Thread title: Do you smoke in your car?

Posts: Ewww never, people need to quit, I am American and I can do whatever I want, popcorn smile, etc.

Would be a welcome change compared to the comparison threads that we normally have.
