New Steeda CAI installed. Also removed and painted the Overflow bottle, while I had the intake removed.

two hours to install a drive shaft, my ass!!!! wow what a long day. for sure a two man job. i did it on my own, but wow, im sure i used my allotted amount of "F-Bombs" for the month. the blowfish trans bracket went in easy until i had to tighten up the two 10mm bolts over the drive shaft... PITA. i put off removing the exhaust for about an hour and a half, finally i threw in the towel and should had done that from the start.

after she was all back together, i went for a run to see how it felt. little more vibration from the shifter, but is to be expected since the shifter is now bolted down to the transmission. i got on it really hard. the new drive shaft allows for the RPMs to climb really fast :eyebulge:. i had yet to really redline it, until today. although she is a GT PP and made to run, she is still my baby, i baby her too much... not today. opened her up 2-4th gear, i was really impressed. :clap2::ford::cheers:

tomorrow im off to SoCal suspension to make sure all my wheels are still in line and they are installing my front sway bar. then Wednesday im putting the Steeda rear spoiler on.

few pics....

Installed my Barton shifter today. This was the first shifter that I have installed. Overall the install went well, except for that pesky bolt on the side of the tranny that connects the front of the shifter to the trans. It was somewhat a pain. I had the front tires on ramps, rear tires on the ground, so I didn't have the best of clearance, which didn't help the issue. For anyone planning on changing out their shifter, I highly recommend putting the car on a lift or have a second set of hands. Other than that, everything went smoothly. Total time spent (to include a two hour break for dinner and a 30 minute test drive afterwards) was 7 hrs. It was so worth it. This shifter is a huge improvement from over the factory shifter. There is virtually zero slop in the shifter. Shifts are extremely precise and crisp. Oh, and the 25% shorter throw is awesome. I highly recommend this shifter for someone looking for an improvement over the stock offering.

Many thanks to Barton Industries for this awesome shifter!

Very nice. I wanna get that Blowfish bracket eventually.
How is shifting now with it on?
i have this bracket on both the boss 302 and the 15 GT PP. i like the way it feels...very solid and shifting is tight. i was hesitant when i installed on the boss not knowing what it would feel like, but after that it was a must for the 15. i feel it greatly improved the shifting movement and is very predictable now.
yes its a PITA to get on, best if done with exhaust off but worth it.
make sure you have a lift, jack stands wont cut it since your working in tight places!!

Thanks guys. Been debating the bracket or Barton shifter but I like the height of the stock shifter and the brackets easier to install. I can still get a shifter down the road just not mgw or barton with the Blowfish. Also the driveshaft loop is a plus with it.

Installed the steeda trans bushing, shifter bushing, and short shifter this morning. For about $200, you can't beat it. I don't notice any additional V/H at all. I do notice that the throws are shorter, and much more crisp. There's a tiny bit of wiggle in it, but it's very firm if your slamming through the gears. I do hear the motor and transmission more in the cabin now due to the tranny bushing, but I don't care at all. Mustang noises are welcome. Lol. I'm supposed to get my orange shifter ball today in the mail, when I do I'll put up pics. Oh and the short throw measures about 1/2" shorter throws, and about 2/10" shorter ball height after install.

Oh I also noticed the reverse lockout is noisy now, but I cleaned it all up and didn't lube it at all, so that's why. Once I put my new ball on and throw some lube on the shaft and spring, that small gap that causes the noise will be taken up and it'll sound solid again.
