I installed the steeda tranny bushing and took it for a quick spin and gotta say it's a great investment. No NVH experienced and about an 80% fix to the notchiness I was having from 1-2. Way easier and cheaper than changing the tranny fluid which didn't help at all.
Ditto on the tranny bushing. Actually, I had it installed to "cure" the thud. Didn't help at all. But there is a marked improvement on the 1-2 notchiness. Am still going to put in the Amsoil tranny fluid at the end of this month.

Huge improvement from such a small amount of time and money invested! There's not many mods that offer this kind of value.

I noticed that people are drilling a hole in the bottom of the Whiteline transmission mount to curve the HVH. Does this amount also need a hole drilled in the bottom?

I think this is the best inexpensive modification that I have done on my car. There is noticeable improvement when shifting. It's just so smooth now. Highly recommend it.

It's not necessary, but we've seen a few customers do it. Drilling a hole will slightly curb the NVH although 95% of our customers who install this as-is notice no increase in NVH.

Installed over last weekend. Major improvement, I'm now curious about the steed shifter mount kit. Also couldn't find torque specs for the Trans bushing.

Get the shifter bracket....it definitely makes a difference. I had it on my 12 and now this car. I want the Steeda trans mount as people are reporting little to no nvh with it, but I had a Whiteline in my 12 and it was unbearable for a daily driver. The bracket added no nvh for me, just nice solid shifts:headbang:

Installed this the other day along, definitely a nice little improvement, and I don't notice any gain in NVH.
I installed mine last Saturday. There is absolutely no noticeable change in NVH.

I also haven't missed a shift from second to third since the install. I am extremely satisfied with the insert.

Will this help with the high rpm kick out?

Yes it will. I have experienced more NVH not sure how others have posted "no increase". It is definitely an increase. May drill a 2" hole in the middle. Will report back.

I love this mod. I'm not going to drill the hole. I think it just needs time to settle in and I'm just getting used to it now. The shifter just locks in gears now. Here is some interior sound windows up.

This is a long thread that has had a lot of replies so far but I wanted to respond to these two comments.

Hi, David,

There's been a lot of in-depth discussion about alternate shifters because of the heavier and more forceful shifting in race situations. I think there is a lot of great innovation out there, your company's product included, to address some of the design limitations.

I use my car mainly as a daily driver. I occasionally rev to over 6000 RPM but not that often. My requirements are more on the "manage NVH but reduce missed shifts at hig RPM" end of the spectrum.

What are your thoughts on the benefits of this mount for that application?
The issue with gear lockouts is due to the shitty design of the linkage on the stock shifter. The linkage between the shifter and the shifting shaft of the transmission has no less than 3 different joints which can bind up and cause a problem.

This is especially apparent on shifts done at full load when the engine and transmission are flexed just slightly and cause the angle of the shift to be different. Even if the transmission shifts just 1-2 degrees it causes the entire feel of the shift to be different and it binds up. The true solution to this problem is getting a shifter thats directly bolted to the transmission and not to the body of the car. (hint: MGW MT-82 Race-spec) This lets the shifter move with the tranny and every shift you make is at the same damn angle EACH AND EVERY TIME PERFECTLY.

The bushing might help reduce the problem, but it wont solve it.

Does this help with that "thud" sound you get occasionally when shifting into first and second?
The thud is drivetrain lash and the noise comes from the differential. It is normal.
