Hi everyone,

Our Steeda MT-82 Transmission Mount Bushing Insert for the 2011 - 2015 6-speed manual transmission Mustangs is now available! Regarding the S550, this insert fits the GT, V6 and EcoBoost.

As some of you may know, this transmission mount bushing helps reduce transmission movement which in turn helps keep the shifter aligned with the transmission - helping to reduce the chances of missing a shift!

It's also fairly easy to install/remove (video below).

What is the difference between this bushing and the whiteline version?
Im gonna say nothing. Looks the same, I have a whiteline installed on my car
Good question, what I can say is our Steeda Transmission Mount Bushing Insert is made in the USA.

The durometer of our bushing is 70 - this helps to minimize NVH while still providing increased performance. We tested several different durometers and we found the durometer of 70 combined with how snug ours fills the void provides the best shifting performance.

Does this help with that "thud" sound you get occasionally when shifting into first and second?

With this bushing installed in our Mustangs, we don't notice any thud sounds when shifting into first and second.

Hi, David,

There's been a lot of in-depth discussion about alternate shifters because of the heavier and more forceful shifting in race situations. I think there is a lot of great innovation out there, your company's product included, to address some of the design limitations.

I use my car mainly as a daily driver. I occasionally rev to over 6000 RPM but not that often. My requirements are more on the "manage NVH but reduce missed shifts at hig RPM" end of the spectrum.

What are your thoughts on the benefits of this mount for that application?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for reaching out! Even if NVH is something you're mindful of, I would say the benefits of this transmission bushing insert far outweigh the slight, slight notice of NVH post-install; especially if you are looking for more precise shifts.

The great thing about this insert is that it's super easy to remove and reinstall if you choose to do so!

I'm happy to help with any other questions you or anyone else may have!

Thanks,
David

I have the white line installed already. Didn't know steeda was selling one. Rather support a company that is active on the board.

Notice a difference? Does it help with that little "thud" when shifting into 1st and 2nd?
