I didn't get any noticable NVH on my mount with it installed on the fwd side. I initially started to install it on the rear but it didn't want to fit in very well at all so I installed on the front side and it went in much easier Which side did you install yours?

It's suppose to be installed from the rear of the mount. NVH is also subjective too.

I just looked up the instructions and it does say either side.

Wouldn't think that installing it on one side or the other would make much difference with NVH, but NVH is subjective like you pointed out.
Even installing it on the front side and lubing it I still needed to use a couple C clamps and a peice of wood to get it seated.
