So I got my first set of mods on the car this week - first up was the Solo Performance Mach XV catback exhaust to replace what was effectively a straight pipe with some glass packs that the prior owner did. I don't have true baseline numbers, and theres a lot of correction for altitude and the...
Could be dirty air/bad gas/any number of one-off things.
This weekend go out, warm her up, throw everything in sport and accelerate WOT up some on ramps to the highway a few teams and see how she does. If it doesn't break you're probably good to go, I wouldn't stress about it too much - these...
Car is at a performance shop this week doing MGW shifter, clutch line, trans fluid, exhaust and checking the following:
In no specific order: toe link bushings, axle nuts, wheel bearings, IRS subframe/diff alignment, rear swaybar alignment, lower control arm bushings, ball joints, motor &...
Yes - the service writer and the tech both rode in the car and reproduced the issue.
They rotated the front tires to the back and the issue went away which was verified by me when I picked up the car. As such, we all thought it was tires.
Discount un-rotated the tires and we started replacing...
great points, I have a performance shop near me I’ve used prior - I’m just having a hard time mentally getting on board with spending more of my money on a problem that should be fixed by Ford
See my reply above - talking about the service center for warranty, not selling the car. It still has bumper to bumper warranty - I don't want to pay for labor hours at a shop, or parts, or new wheels or tires or anything anymore if its not the tires and its under warranty if that makes sense.
Going back to Ford service haha - not getting rid of the car, I just got it!
Got these AMR wheels in Dark Stainless: https://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-amr-dark-stainless-wheel-19x85-102501g05.html
You guys can you confirm I'm not just being stupid? On flat road, I should be able to floor...
Update - all 4 new tires on the stock wheels and the issue persists. I ordered new wheels and tires from AM and will try those. Otherwise the car is going back to Ford.
Do you think it can be a similar tire from a different brand? I might grab some Pilot Sport 4S but its still under the Pilot Sport line so maybe I should go with a different brand?
Thanks - switch tires on the steering side or the rear axle?. Right now the tires on the steering side have been replaced, and one tire from rear axle has been replaced. If its the actual tires themselves in the context of the tread pattern or whatever I'm going to be super disappointed, lol.
No worries - yes they all say outside on the outside - first thing I checked. they are Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+.
If the new tire does not resolve the issue, I am going to re-rotate them so the fronts are on the back and go drive again and see if the issue is back to "resolved". If so, I will...
The problem is that I had new tires put on 10 days ago when I picked the car up, by the selling dealer - had 0 miles on them - and it has had this issue since them. Discount is replacing effectively all of the (new) tires with the same (new) tires which are all the same diameter.. so far 3/4...
