I am looking at adding some boost. Whats everyone's thoughts on Hellion vs. Procharger. The car is an Auto with just catback exhaust. I am wanting between 600-700rwhp. The car is driven almost daily and takes trips as well. 91 Octane is about the best gas I can get where I live. The recent talk of the oil pump gears and superchargers have me looking seriously into twin turbo...

If Hellion, it would be their 55mm quickspool setup.
If Procharger, it would be a Stg2 beefcake setup with their Lund tune.

And the car that is needing boost...:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Just me but the Helion has more headroom if you want to grow. The D1SC will get you to 800rwhp but the Helion you can always move to 6265's and go up to 1200. I have 6265's on the Z06 and it is just a matter of turning the boost up with them.

procharger will be less expensive, more than enough to pop your stock block, and comes with lund tuning on our package.

not gonna happen on the hellion kit

If your goal is ever going to be >1000HP then I'd go Hellion. If <1000HP I'd stick with ProCharger.

I don't ever see my goal being more than 600-700rwhp. I don't plan on doing more mods, etc. I just want a rock solid boosted mustang :)

just out of curiosity, what is the mpg lose with a supercharger during regular driving? I have driven S/C v6 cars and the same car and motor that was NA, staying out of the boost, there was a substantial mpg difference.

turbo cars don't seem to suffer the same lose under normal driving.

I wanted a Procharger until I really sat down and crunched some numbers and modding goals. The reality is that if you go FI, you're going to want to make sure you get all the supporting mods. For a supercharger, that means headers to ensure you maximize your HP gains so make sure you tag on another $1500 for a decent set.

Now you're looking at around $7800 for a Procharger Stg 2.. For that kind of money, you're really not that far off from a Hellion 55mm Complete Kit. From a modding perspective, just like everyone else is stating, the Hellion kit has more growth.

I will be picking up a Hellion 55mm kit very soon. :headbang:

Of your choices then Procharger would be the way. What about TVS or Whipple?

Agreed, it's all in what you want out of it. Both systems will get you to the desired power level. It's just a matter of where along the powerband you want the power delivered.

Just make sure you do enough research so you don't regret your decision.
