Adam,

Can you please leave discussion threads to discussing the motor instead of spamming your products. You have a thread to discuss your turbo kits, but this isn't it.

Brad
No problem, but just a heads up I was replying and contributing to the thread. We are currently seeking the limits of the factory engine, I simply stated what we are doing next to take the stock engine to the next level. Not once did I promote a product. Thank you for letting everyone know about our thread though.

if we had the 5862 like we will be shipping with our kits we would easily be making 435-440hp.

Right you did not mention any of your kits. No promoting there. Come on.

If you want to talk about the stock rods then do so that is what this thread is for information. Let's talk about 450 + torque to the wheels on the stock motor and internals. Lets educate the forum about these motors.

It's all on how you read it, you wanted to read it negatively and that is fine you have the right to do so.

I was on topic, and now people know that we are looking to take it to the next level to find the true stock rod limit.

Did you learn anything from other vendors about being a dick? I suggest you do a search and quit being an asshole before all your customer base disappears and you have to try again on a different platform. BTW you can't be a spammer when it offers a legitimate solution and or contributes to the topic of "Stock Rod Limit".
In no way am I being any way. I started the thread and I can stop it. I brought it up for discussion among everyone. If people want to talk about upgraded turbos and such with the stock rods than that is great, but lets not make it a brand X or Y when speaking about it. I asked that this happen earlier in the thread.

It would also be great if you could stop using the profanity.

this is why vendors need to have their own personal accounts unattached to their product/company . i get both companies sides on this discussion.

I have attached the dyno graph in SAE and STD. I run my dyno in SAE and post all my numbers in SAE, but I wanted to show the difference to the community as many do not seem to understand the difference.

Car was well over 500 at the Crank. I am attaching the dyno graph when it let go. It was at 460 torque to the wheels SAE, and 477 STD. I do not offer this tune to my customers. It was for my shop car only.

What information would you like? If you look back a few pages you can see the rod. There was no knock in the log and the ECU was adding timing.

do you have plans to duplicate this failure on this tune to confirm the stock rod capability?
If you tuned to the rod failure only once I would think that it could potentially be an anomaly
Just curious - no offense intended!

In the beginning of the thread it was mentioned that the motor had seen 8k rpm and 30psi boost. I originally assumed the rod failed at max rpm. Now reading that the rod failed at 3200, it is not unreasonable to consider that the rod was stressed/damaged on one pull and then failed on the next pull.

No offense taken.

We are currently moving forward with a forged motor and larger turbo. After examining the stock rods I feel that I will not push a customers car past the 400 ft/lbs to the wheels on a stock motor. Some may last at 430 and some may fail at 400. This is my opinion and how I see fit to proceed with customers engines as it is not worth risking one of their motors.

We will push the limits of just a rod piston upgrade and see how far they will go.

Motor never saw 8K. Its an auto and shifting at 6K as there is no reason to take it past this as power drops off. It was at 29.7 Psi and will return to that and more shortly.

You can not assume that is the limit of the stock block when the stock intercooler is a POS. Also did you even change out the factory oil first? I doubt you did in all honesty. The oem oil looks gas soaked oil and is super thin. Congrats you found the limit of the stock setup, not the stock block and on a crappy tune. The reason I can assume the tune was crap is because any pro tuner would have seen that the charge temps were too high and backed off.

That much torque at such a low rpm will compress/kill a rod. Quickly, easily, and noisily...

Super high cylinder pressures at low rpm are never a good thing unless diesel...

This is why I focus on torque delivery and control when I'm tuning the stock turbo. I purposely focus on having boost come on strong, then draw it out to have it deliver peak torque later in the RPM.

Have a look at the graph below for example:

A lot of assumptions there and you are incorrect on every account, but thanks for the helpful insight.
