We haven't experienced that yet, so we can't speak to it. Maybe someone else can jump in.
I bounced the redline a couple times when I first started really driving the car, mainly because of how damn quite this thing is, but every time I hit the red line it would kick me into neutral. I'm worried that the built momentum will force the engine into even higher revs.

I installed the Steeda transmission mount insert bushing today and I have to say this would easily be one of the best bang for the buck items you could do. Super easy to install and it feels far more solid. There is a little bit of added vibration but for the improvement in feel I think the trade off is good.

Did this just in time to really try it out tomorrow at the Speedventures Roval at Auto Club Speedway....can't wait!

Oh and for those of you that are like me and HAVE to torque everything down...
4 outside bolts that hold the crossmember to chassis are 46 ft.lb.
2 nuts that hold transmission to crossmember are 52 ft.lb. :D

After reading the reviews of improve shifting and the price, I guess I should add this to my list of mods. I do however have two questions. I'm new t this mod stuff so please take it easy on an old guy...

1. What the heck is NVH ?

2. Can I get a 10% discount for listening to the music in the back ground of the install video ? :)

How much, if any, extra vibration is transmitted from the tranny to the feel of the shifter itself, that is, when your hand is on the shift knob???

Thanks for the review.

Did you use the 70 durometer or 88 durometer bushings?

With this bushing installed in our Mustangs, we don't notice any thud sounds when shifting into first and second.
Hi David, I just read this today.
This part also removes the thud sound when shifting?
There is another big long thread where everyone is talking about the transmission 'thud' when shifting.

It seems the consensus was this is normal and live with it...but if this part removes the thud sound that is great news.

Hi, again I personally haven't experienced the thud but I spoke with the team regarding it and the general consensus is that the only time someone would potentially get a thud with the S550 transmission is when they are pulling on the lever hard before they push the clutch in, or when they don’t step on the clutch all the way. That's all I've got! Regardless, I just drove one of ours with the bushing installed and did not experience a thud.

Interesting because a lot of people experience the thud when shifting normal. As a matter of fact it seems the majority of people report this thud and most people are saying it is normal for this transmission.
I feel it when shifting normal, clutch fully depressed before using the shifter.
So not sure what to make of this if your test car did not exhibit this behavior before either. But glad to know you do not have it now.

Installed this the other day along, definitely a nice little improvement, and I don't notice any gain in NVH.
Sweet! Glad you like it
