Why are the dealers giving you such a bad price for the V6? MSRP for those packages is $26,015 vs $28,120. If they're not giving you any discount on the V6 then the EB is a no brainier. But I was able to get a good price.

Btw, if you are considering a performance pack then there is no point at looking at the V6. It's a good value.
I would be willing to bet they want to sell the EB more then the V6 at this time. That is probably why they discounted the EB so much.

Wow they are heavily discounting that EB. If you like the EB equally as much as the V6 the $300 upcharge for the PP is more than worth it. Make sure you drive each.

Wow they must really wanna put you in the ecoboost. In maryland the difference between the two is thousands of dollars.
I have seen EB's below $23k down here in Southern Maryland. For example Upper Marlboro Ford, where I bought my 6, has a TY EB PP automatic for $25700 last I checked. That is close to 4K off MSRP.

Online prices always include rebates that hardly anyone applies for like veteran and lease conquest.

But why would anyone want to sell EB more than the V6? Usually they push the stuff they have a lot of/hard time selling. Thought it'd be the other way around.

Here in Maryland it seems as though the EB's are having a hard time selling. V6 turnaround is about a week where as an EB takes close to 3 weeks to sell from what I have seen.

That's actually refreshing to hear.

Wonder if Ford will ever release a sales breakdown at some point. I'm expecting EB to overtake the V6 because of the packages but I think it will be close.

I'm sure ecoboost will sell more but like you said be close. By doing away with the PP for the v6 is what caused this otherwise the v6 would outsell the ecoboost.

Wait. The DOC fee isn't shown in the price I gave for the eB PP. THat price should be $26,199.00

The V6 discount is $1515 off MSRP. The eB PP discount is $1590 off MSRP. Almost the same.

Both About $400 below invoice. The wheels and axle add about $1390 to the V6. The PP adds about $1995.

Where's that dyno chart of the two engines?

Here's the dynos.

Ecoboost:

V6:

Looks like the HP curve is similar with the V6 being down on about 20 torque to the wheels. Hard to notice.. I didn't when I drove them both. But I didn't take either over 5k in test driving.

Here it is. THis is a pretty interesting chart. Looks like the eB has more under the line. But it doesn't start until 2600.

Yeah those give a good comparison. Test drive them to get a feel for it. Manual trans gives you the best feeling between the engines, though it's very tough to find a 3.55 manual V6.

I really feel like the difference is just personal preference at this point. I bought the EB because I've never had a turbo'd car and I love that whine. I'd never look down on a V6 owner because they didn't get the more expensive one. A mustang is a mustang and we're all in this together.

Stop the presses. I just discovered something new. New to me, anyway. It suddenly occurred to me - don't ask why it didn't occure to me before this - that one could order the eBoost WITHOUT the Performance Package! And then save the $2000!

Why is this new?

Well, because the eB comes standard with a 3.31, while the V6 comes standard with a 3.15. So that while the V6 begs for the optional axle and wheels, the eB doesn't need them so much. Still shitty wheels, though. The difference between 3.31 and 3.55 isn't much. Then you get all seasons, too.

Of course there are some gauges and other things you'd be giving up, but you'd give them up with the V6, too.

What do you think of that?

It sounds like you want an ecoboost haha. Dude if what you said earlier about the prices is true I would have probably got the ecoboost with the PP.
