When I test drove a 3.55 auto I easily got the tail out (very controlled) in 2nd gear entering a freeway ramp. It scoots.
I didn't even find out this was an option until after I bought my car. But I am seriously thinking about changing to these gears when they are released on American muscle.

I have been considering this as well... I just like my 27mpg too much right now though.

I've never seen above 24mpg but I do mostly city driving with occasional highway driving. I usually only average 22mpg anyway. It's not my daily driver so I can deal with losing some mpg.

I'm guessing I'll see a 1-2 mpg hit from the 3.55 gears. I'm ok with that knowing the performance increase. Much later in the car's life, I want to swap in the Torsen diff. Can't do that with 3.15 gears, only 3.31 and up.

I think the general consensus was a 2mpg hit with 3.55 gears on the v6 when my mpg thread was still active. This was in highway driving though with city driving actually seeing 1-2mpg improvement.

I'd be the happiest guy in the world if I could get the same Perf Pack as the EB on the V6.
You'd be adding weight and giving up all seasons for summer only tires.

I don't know how much weight. I tend to prefer all season tires on a daily driver.

I think the weight would be worth it for my purposes and I plan to have a dedicated winter set of tires anyway, so I'd actually prefer it to be on summers during the warm months. I will autocross the car 4-5 times a year. This was the main reason it was very hard to decide between an EB perf pack and the V6. Because it will also be my daily driver, the V6 was more enjoyable (to me) most of the time.

How do you expect the V6 engine response to differ from the eB, assuming the 3.55 and a manual, and 19" tires?

Same scenario when both are stock... The V6 has less low end, but, less drop off at the top.

Much more linear power delivery, continuing to build as the revs climb. A little less punch out of a corner (turbo engines are hard to match here), but overall response to input will be better as it's an NA engine. I'll probably stick with 18" to be honest. They're lighter, ride better and there are more streetable autocross tires available in 18" vs 19", if I decide to do that. 19" looks a little better and will tend to have sharper turn-in response, but it will depend greatly on the tire. Something like a 18" Bridgestone RE-11 won't be lacking in any way.

They felt identical to me at 2k rpm+. There isn't any turbo lag in the EB that I noticed and the V6 doesn't have the low end torque problem it used to have, either.

The bottom line price I have from two dealers, excluding t, t & l, is as follows:

For the V6 w/wheels & 3.55 axle = $25,607.95 includes $500 rebate;

For the eB w/PP ..................... = $25,900.00......... ".

WI has a mandated $199 Doc fee to be added. Prices included Ford's Fuel Charge $43.52, Advertising Assessment $378, D & D $825.

So there's less than $300 between the two and you get all that eB PP stuff, which is pretty extensive. I guess I have to go with the eB? I guess it will hold its resale better.

Why are the dealers giving you such a bad price for the V6? MSRP for those packages is $26,015 vs $28,120. If they're not giving you any discount on the V6 then the EB is a no brainier. But I was able to get a good price.

Btw, if you are considering a performance pack then there is no point at looking at the V6. It's a good value.
