Check out this oil filter adapter for the Ford Mustang GTD 2025-2026.
The parts guy at my dealer said it is also the same adapter as the one used on the 2026 DHSC.
This would allow the use of the FL-500S oil filter.

I have noticed over time that Ford does that with the images they sometimes post up for a given part. There may be a reason for it, dunno, but I find it extremely annoying for the reason you state.
