Have any other installation options come up? I have a 2017 Mustang GT with a 6R80 transmission. I installed the Performance panel, gauge cluster, but it isn’t working.
I have Power Pack 2 installed
Check if you have the oil sensor or switch. Recently a guy asked me about his car and on further inspection he had the sensor already.

there is a kit being sold buy lawn racing to add the sensor. Sensor needs to be enabled in tune

That’s the oil pressure switch. To get real oil pressure readings it will need to be swapped

Would you be interested/buy?

15-17 Mustang (non-pp) Oil Pressure Switch to Sensor Conversion Kit

Allows you to get real and accurate oil pressure readings! Would allow the performance pack / gt350 gauge swaps to have a functioning oil pressure gauge.

Your 15-17 Mustang (non-pp) comes with an oil pressure SWITCH not a SENSOR. This means the car does not know what oil pressure your car is, only if there is some or 0. This means even installing the performance pack / gt350 gauges will not give you accurate oil pressure (any psi reading is an inferred reading, not the actual pressure).

This kit is a plug-and-play kit that is straightforward to install and 100% reversible. Tune changes are required.
Kit includes:
- Factory 15-17 Oil Pressure Sensor
- Custom plug-and-play wiring harness

Basic Install Instructions:
- Remove oil pressure switch
- Install oil pressure sensor
- Connect oil pressure sensor harness to original switch connector and imrc connector (splits the imrc signal retaining full imrc usage)
- Move pcm connector pin from position 48 to 57 (simple and reversible process although care is needed)
- Load new tune with oil pressure config set to sensor

With the kit:
- Datalog oil pressure
- View oil pressure with handheld device or canbus gauge (sct, ngauge)
- View oil pressure with performance pack / gt350 vent gauges (still need to verify)

Cost is estimated between $90-150 although I will be making upgrades from my test harness to the final to improve quality and durability which may affect the price. I am feeling out interest in this kit as I need to invest some money into the proper equipment to make the harnesses with the quality they should have. I may be able to make a version for EcoBoost owners as well.

Any comments, feedback, or concerns are appreciated!

Hey,

I have the 2015 gt (gen 2) which comes with a 1pin oil pressure switch. I bought an engine harness that unbeknownst to me, has a 3 pin oil pressure sensor. I dont need any of the benefits. I just need to clear the "low engine oil pressure light" how do i do this?

I am assuming I dont need a repin because the harness i bought came with a 3 pin setup?
However, my pcm is a 1 pin setup. what is the easiest way to get my car up and running? Would the easiest option be for me to find an engine harness with a 1 pin oil pressure pigtail ? The crappy part is that I called LMR, Ford, Fordtech, Mustang performance shops and no one knows how to help or resolve. You appear to be pretty knowledgeable. Any ideas for me? I don't want oil data, I just want to drive my car. I have no intention of gauges, etc.

Well easiest is to get a tune that changes the ecu configuration from a switch to a sensor, this would fix all the issues and give you real oil pressure readings if you ever wanted (assuming you have the oil pressure sensor installed aswell).

If you want to switch back to the oil pressure switch you just need to move a pin on the ecu connector to the correct spot and then use the wire running already running in the harness for the pressure switch.

I don’t fully know how the one wire switch works but it may be able to be fooled simply by just attaching a wire to the ecu pin for oil pressure switch signal.

not sure what that means…as that sandwich plate and this gauge = happiness 😬

I bought those same 2 gauges based on another thread you posted in but I picked up this to hook into the original oil pressure sender hole:

pp1 car with gauges fwiw. wish there was a better factory option than going aftermarket but those gauges sure look nice. can't wait to install..
I did also find a place in phx that supplies for subbies selling the chrome gauge bezels for a buck. got both for $17 shipped to match the factory stuff.
