I would have to go back and look at my research/wiring diagram for the exact signal wires since I am thinking for the eco it uses the Canbus high and low signals and then pins 17 or 21 at the PCM for either pressure switch or sensor. This is all for using the 4 wire connector located behind the sync screen that plug into the center dash PP gauge cluster. In the eco its oil pressure and vac/boost gauges. The vac/boost gauge works just plugging the 4 wire lead into it but as you know needs the switch/sensor changed and harness made up or wires just spliced into existing harness and pins at PCM locations swapped.

Do you have a 2018 EcoBoost?

I am looking at the 2016 EcoBoost diagram right now and looks like there is several voltage reference and signal return pins available for multiple sensors. Looks like MAP and Crankcase pressure sensor have the specified vref and sigrtn wires you could tap.

For 2018 also several vref and sigrtn, looks like you can tap the MAPT and Fuel pressure sensors for the "correct" vref and sigrtn. Oil pressure switch wired to pin 17, sensor is pin 21

I have a 2020 eco premium which should be the same as the 2018 for wiring diagrams. I believe you are correct on your wires to tap and PCM pin locations. I also think the fuel pressure sensor has both the vref and sigrtn wires together at the one sensor.

I have the diagrams that I can send you later when I have more time.

Here are the diagrams needed for making a harness kit for the ecos.

Yep this is what I found. Is the MAPT/MAP sensor easy to access? If you can get me photos I can try to find the right connector

I would be interested in buying a harness from you for my 2018 EcoBoost if you decide to make one. I did the performance pack gauge swap. Boost works fine, but no oil pressure

Sounds good, I am currently in the process of investing some money into some proper tools to make the harness more of a production spec. I want it to be just as good or better than the OEM wiring.

So far it looks like I will be investing about $450 for tools haha.

For the EcoBoost I will have to make some modifications as we won't be taping into the imrc but probably the mapt/map sensor. Once I get the tools in and do some testing I can reach out with pricing and info on when you could get one.

Im also moving so that throws a wrench into things.

It Works!

Finally got a new alternator and got the car running. Oil pressure sensor seems to work great! Only thing I wish is that the center digital gauge would show it but it doesn't seem possible. Should work perfectly with the performance pack gauges. Im using my ngauge, you can also log the parameter.

I'm still deciding if I should make a few harnesses and try to sell them.

(Ignore my dirty gauge haha)

So Im also looking to get an oil pressure readout and just installed the digital dash into my 2016 GT. I've seen that all you need to do to get the read out is get a tune that changes the ECU setting of the oil switch to an oil transducer.

Thats how others got non-PP cars to operate the PP gauges...

Am I missing something here? Seems like a lot of unnecessary work if just a tunes solves it.

Now I do understand that the oil pressure switch provides "inferred" data at this point, but would be close enough I would think i.e. pressure changes from 45psi to 20psi indicating something is going on.

Otherwise excellent write up and definitely curious on the implications of this.

Yes I’ve seen people change the tune and get an inferred output. The problem is the inferred pressure is just that, inferred. The car uses cylinder head temp, rpm, and load (I assume) to calculate the oil pressure. The problem is this won’t show you an accurate pressure and will never let you know if you have a pressure problem.

If all you want is a number to show than sure just re-do the tune, but you bought the gauges might aswell have them show an actual number that can tell you if there is an issue with the engine.

Makes sense, i thought it "inferred" from the output of the pressure switch, not some random formula using cylinder head temp and rpm.

In that case I need to do what you did.
