Cool, I’ve glanced at the instructions and it kind of loses me when it doesn’t show detailed imagery and just has the wording, as I don’t know mechanics well enough to figure it out without a good guide or video. I might bite off more than I can chew here but yolo. One step at a time I guess
I have a post somewhere with little tips on things that aren’t clear in the instructions, like the aforementioned passenger side pipe, and also a YouTube video showing where everything ended up running as far as locations of tubing, wiring, etc. You may want to take a look at both of those before you get started.

well.. pulled the trigger this morning. 2 refurb listings showed up and snagged a g3 with a g4 intercooler. price was same as what I was looking at the g2 with g3 i/c so figured I'd opt for the larger unit. they had a good price on a g2 kit but reading the description it's likely the i/c was dented. my ocd wouldn't allow that :) asked for the 8psi pulley over the 7. not planning on doing opg or any other upgrades at this point. already have gt500 injectors for my flex e85 kit and will pick up plugs/bap over the next month then time to let wengerd do his thing...

Everything came in today, got my bumper/crash bad off and removed the airbox before I had to go to work. Literally first time in my life even using a ratchet wrench btw.
Side note: does that throttle body look normal? The ones ive seen never looked like that, its been untouched by me and previous owner.

Congrats on getting into it. Take your time and ask questions if you aren't sure. What doesn't look right about the throttle body to you?

ok. ess kit should arrive today. what else am I going to need besides a tune. already have 18+ manifold locked out, gt500 injectors and catback. I am currently flex on e but I'm going back to 91 as I don't want to put another 2.5k into injectors and fuel system currently. e is tough to find outside vegas so I'll go back to 91.

the list I have so far:
ngk plugs gapped to .26 per wengerd
vmp bap
reichert t-stat 170
catch can- do I need both sides or only pass side. assume I also need to gut the pvc.
boost gauge? I assume since there's no mbc, is this really necessary and if so if I do the replacement center gauge pod my pp1 has will I miss the oil gauge there currently?

No reason to not run a gauge. Easy way to see if you are making the boost that you should be making, and also lets you know about vacuum when the engine is idling etc.

The ngk6510 spark plugs are one step colder than stock right? For some reason wengerd is telling me they aren’t and I need the ford performance ones, but from this forum I can tell most of u run the ngks?

That's weird because in September he told me to get the NGK 6510 when I did my kit.

I’m guessing he changed the recommendation and maybe one of his employees didn’t know what the ngks were. Idk I sent a reply asking about it.

The NGK6510 is one step colder than stock.

I also use the Ford Performance Cobra Jet plugs. One thing I don't like about the NGK's, is that you have to bend the ground strap pretty far to achieve the desired gap, whereas the Ford Performance ones are almost perfect right out of the box

Hes telling me they’re only one step colder than stock 15-17s. And same as the 18+ plugs, and I should only use them for low boost

Ford switched around 2020. 18-19 run a hotter plug than the ngk6510s.

yea so what I’m taking away from this is the ford performance ones might be slightly better on high boost, but most of you still run and recommend ngk6510s for boosted setups so it should be good? I fought with cylinder 4 too much to change these out already lol. Maybe if theres issues on startup

He's right.

They went from a 6 to 7 heat range (as far as NGK's spec goes)
