You can see a faint checkered flag on the tire, the mark of Michelin. Might be Cup2R’s. It very much appears they did their best to remove any hint of tire manufacturer, size, etcWhy is this impressive?
You can clearly see those two cars are not on stock tires, they're on some sort of slicks. What else has been done to them?
GTD isn't beating the Corvette on tracks here in the states...
Could be a Pilot Sport GT or something as well. I don't see any tread on them. And what's with those aerodynamic wheel covers? You can see a faint checkered flag on the tire, the mark of Michelin. I think the bigger issue is that people are spreading non-official times as if they’re actually official times. Does nobody remember the supposed ZR1X times that were within spitting distance of the AMG One?I'm just saying, this isn't a stock car, so there's no real point in flaunting the times.
Ford rented the track. Two GTDs showed up. Are you saying Ford rented the track for someone else to use in a highly modified GTD? Who has the pockets to do that, then get Ford to pay for track time? Let's be realistic here. The video speculates this is an EVO version of the GTD, whatever that means.Could be a Pilot Sport GT or something as well. I don't see any tread on them. I'm just saying, the cars aren't stock. So comparing the times to stock Corvette times are pointless. If they do it with a production car (assuming they release a new model), then we can talk.Ford rented the track. Two GTDs showed up. GIve it some time. Folks will grab screenshots of the aero tweaks. The SC is definitely new based on the whine.
I've always thought the same. That Ring time is really going to affect my commute when I drive the exotic to work.Nurburging times are stupid, anyway. They're for the Grand Turismo and keyboard racer crowd.
It may very well be stock (save for the tires). There’s been mentions in other threads that Ford was moving to a Whipple for the GTD going forward. And that conversation has been going on for a few months now. The additional aero will likely be offered on a track trim level also, if it isn’t already. So yeah, I guess you could say the car is modified from the original runs, but if it’s offered to customers going forward, it’s technically stock.I'm just saying, the cars aren't stock. Nurburging times are stupid, anyway. They're for the Grand Turismo and keyboard racer crowd. It's funny how the ZR1 is 1.5 or 2 seconds faster at the ~ 7 minute lap of the Nurburging but it's 3 seconds faster around tracks when independently tested here that are only 1:30 laps (Sonoma, VIR)
And I would like to hear what all happened. Some people are saying it's a 1000hp Whipple car. Who knows.
100%. That video means nothing really until Ford releases official times and specs.I guess we will see when we get something other than a vague video
GTD EVO X SCJust wait until the EVO X rolls out LOLOLOL
