I like to disassemble things.
First DH SC part, used part I've seen available for sale. Seller is connected to Ford somehow directly/indirectly and has been selling takeoff parts for decades. Randomly found this on eBay...

Pretty cool, how does it differ from the 500?

Bad news guys. Got told by one California dealer that they are gonna put a 30k markup on the SC regardless of trim. :/
Shocking lol.

It will be interesting to see if there is that kind of demand for the car.

My local dealer called me asking if I want to place an order (was a bit surprised actually, I thought the allocation would've been spoken for already). But even with no markup, I just don't have that kind of money to spend right now. Not a fan of the screen-heavy dashboard either.

Still, surprised it wasn't spoken for yet. Curious how much demand there actually is.

I have guaranteed allocations at three dealers here in SoCal. Two openly admitted, I'm pretty much the only one who has even called about the SC, if that gives you any idea. The only place I wasn't at the top of the list was with big-name, go-to dealers like Galpin. They also told me that orders would start opening up next month.

Based on what I see, it looks identical to the Raptor R and GTD (which are the exact same unit) TB.

If the regular track pack DH are discounted and still not selling, I don’t see how the SC version is going to sell.
This.

The base SC’s will probably sell if the ADM isn’t awful. The track pack and special edition will be a tougher sell at MSRP and ADM will make it that much tougher. My guess is Ford isn’t planning on selling many of the SE’s

I think Ford looked at the ADMs that happened on the GT350 and GT500 and decided if that's what the market would bear, they'd add that to the MSRP. Note the increases MY over MY with both the GT350 and GT500.

Unfortunately for them and us, I think they got to the limit that most (but not all) people will pay for a Mustang.

The Darkhorse is not a Shelby, a Boss or a Mach 1. The name recognition is not there. Yes, names make a difference when nestoligia is taken into account. But then, they are not interested in the legacy crowd. They are trying to create a whole new customer base. Thats gonna be tough. Of course opinions are like a...........s. could be totally of base

I remember a local dealer told me 20K markup on the GT350. I did end up paying 5K extra on mine in November 2015, but with MSRP being less than 60K back then, that seems like a decent deal now. 2019s and 2020s with lower miles are still close to that on the used market.

The markups will come down if people don't pay them. It should be interesting to see what the demand is like.

Using the Dark Horse name is fine, I don’t think you need to totally rely on nostalgic names if the car performs. That said, I do think Dark Horse SC is a dumb name. They could’ve picked something better, whether it’s a new name or a nostalgic name.

Sadly if they wanted to revolve the name around HORSE....it aint bad. Not many other options that sound as good. Wild Horse, Crazy Horse....etc
