hi i have a 2017 mustang gt & was driving to get gas when suddenly car went in limp mode & abs light came on, hill start assist disabled, service advance trac warning & drive modes stopped working. i checked on forscan and got a c0036 code with additional fault failure (:07):. Wondering if anybody knows the exact issue? i’ve checked the wheel speed sensor, seems just fine.

Only once? dont worry too much about it. A good bump or gravel patch and that can happen.

Clean the abs sensors, and check the hubs for play if you’re worried about it or if it repeats. Hubs dont last forever.

The S550 has a very well known common occurrence for AdvanceTrac errors that are caused by these possibilities:

- Blown or loose AdvanceTrac fuse. Go to this thread, first post - and take note it was for a 2015. If that isn't the fuse location in your S550, then go to Google and type in your year/make/model and the words "fuse diagram" and you will get the info...
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...for-advance-track-and-traction-control.82309/

- Rear Wheel Thrust washer damage or failure of part. Again, this is a very common and well documented issue with the S550's where if that part is bad on either axle it will throw an AdvanceTrac error.

- The small harness at the air box which may also be an issue if it has become disconnected or wobbled loose will also throw an AdvanceTrac error... part is pictured in THIS thread:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/traction-control-fuse.109035/

The brake pedal (or clutch pedal) “bumpers” if missing or have become deteriorated, will also cause multiple operational issues. The threads for that topic is here:

First thing I thought of was the brake pedal disc (bumper)...

I had exactly the same thing. Most likely wheel bearing/hub assembly on the rear axle. I was doing 75 on the interstate in the fast lane when mine went into limp mode. I changed both rears and problem solved. This was a couple of years ago.

My '18 did pretty much the same thing. Replaced the rear driver wheel hub and it fixed the issue. When I checked the wheel hub, it did not show any signs of play. Good luck.

Same here. Replaced both rear hubs. Very common problem.

Same happened on my 19. No play at all in any wheels so I started with the drivers rear and problem solved.
