Please welcome my 2020 GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack, Chassis #L2131. The backstory: I had been losing sleep the past few months deciding whether to sell or not to sell my beloved 2020 Kona Blue 5.0 which I put so much time into and really enjoyed, but I couldn't get the Shelby itch out of my head. I also wanted to be boosted but didn't exactly want to do that myself or deal with local speed shops. Despite being N/A, the GT350's remained an option for obvious reasons. Anyway, the 5.0 sold in one week at full asking price so then the question was, do I get a 2019-2020 GT350/R, or a 2020-2022 GT500? Even though I'm a manual guy at heart, ultimately I decided on a GT500 after test driving one and really loving the look, sound and performance. The Predator / DCT combo is an animal. Do I regret not getting a GT350? Not exactly, but partly because I have a 2019 C7 Z06 with a tremec manual and partly because having a 700 HP DCT Shelby is pretty damn enjoyable, to say the least. Will I eventually wind up with a GT350/R to add to the group? Almost certainly yes. Anyway, here's a formal introduction with photos of my GT500 to this forum. This car unbelievably only had 450 miles when I bought it a few weeks ago and drove it home from Dallas. There is literally still plastic on the floor mats! Oddly, it was a two owner car with the previous owner only having it about 6 weeks. My only fear is that the previous owners did not properly break it in. But the car checked out as best I could tell, Carfax is clean, and it sounds and drives amazing, (outside of downshifts being a little rough, is that normal with the DCT?). I've already started adding Carbon Fiber dress up parts to the engine and interior, and I just changed out the stock red tail lights for some Form Clear Euro tail lights which look better to me. This weekend I'll be adding the VMP Apex Predator CF CAI, and in the near future I will be getting tuning (not sure if I'll be using Lund, PBD or someone else. Any suggestions?).

Not a Z07, but it's a 2019 and the 19 Z06's share several suspension components with the ZR1's. I guess Chevy decided to consolidate some of the parts between the two since 2019 was the final year of the C7 and only year of the ZR1. It also has the competition seats which are nice. 2018-19 Z06's with manual and competition seats are becoming very hard to find and very pricey, I'm so glad I found this one when I did a year ago

Amazing Shelby also, car is gorgeous. I recommend Wengerd as a tuner. Also, if you wanted to keep things OEM with the Euro taillights, Ford Performance sells some too.

Gorgeous Z06. My friend sold his black ZR1 for a bmw for his wife and now regrets it. Easier to find a new wife than a ZR1. 😉 enjoy the two beautiful rides. Watch what you say about the Z06 sharing suspension from the ZR1 they start calling it a parts bin car.

Sweet. What are your general thoughts of the car so far? What did you have before it?

They can call it anything they want, Lol. Man you're right, I bet that is some serious regret. My only regret is not realizing the value of the ZR1 back in late 2019 and early 2020. Not that I really had the cash then but it would have easily been worth a loan. What an incredible investment that would have been, they were barely selling over window back then and now look at the prices.
