Seeking recent input from fellow Mustang enthusiasts regarding Progressive or their offshoot brand Progressive "Drive" car insurance. I reviewed some older insurance posts here but looking to see if anyone has any experience or opinion of either brand.

Long story short, I'm a long time State Farm customer. I reviewed the rates on my current premium and thought I'd shop around. Found a broker who gave me an apples to apples quote via Progressive Drive and it was significantly less. I asked the broker if they had other insurance options that might provide a savings and they said Progressive Drive was the only one with a savings for me vs State Farm... I found some reviews about Progressive and the theme was somewhat you get what you pay for; not the best customer service; difficult to get repairs funded etc. I'm thinking that since Progressive Drive is so much less, there is no such thing as a free lunch etc. and if a broker can't offer another company between Progressive Drive and State Farm, well, seems odd. As much as I don't want to pay higher premiums, I also don't want to go somewhere new then regret it later if bleep hits the fan on the roadway.

So, anyone have experience with Progressive or Progressive "Drive?"

I have Progressive, switched from liberty when I saw I was being charged $200 more a month for two cars. Although, (knock on wood) I haven't had to make claims in years. Two things to consider is coverage - how much liability, etc. costs and agent fees. Some agents want to be millionaires overnight at their customer's expense. You may want to shop agents/agencies, also.

I was with Progressive forever, during the pandemic they just kept jacking rates, I switched to Liberty and I'm paying a little over half of what I was before.

I made the switch from liberty to progressive when I bought the mustang. Liberty quoted me an additional 300$ a month just for the mustang and also raised my other car from 92$ a month to 176$. So now I pay 174$ for both the mustang and another vehicle.

Ok, thank you. New to the broker thing and I kept their fees in the back of my mind re the quotes they offered and company options. Sales is sales and the brokers will make money and I'm feeling like they know what client situations will be profitable for them. It may be they could actually offer reasonably priced coverage with company "A" but there isn't enough profit in it for them so they take a pass.

Thank you for responding.

You owe it to yourself to get a quote every couple years no matter who you're with. There's deals to be had out there, even if they only last a couple years

My agent had me with progresssive for a while. Had to do a pretty large claim repair on my tacoma and it was fine. Agent I had was solid.

with a different company now because I switched states and whatnot.

true statement right there. I haven't had a claim in this century(knocks on wood) so no reason to pay an agent to buy a new porsche. I stick to only online vendors.

always makes me laugh when people post up up what they pay. WAY too many variables to compare car insurance with others.

Had Progressive, switched to American Family which was cheaper for better coverage. American Family also has an OEM parts add on, which was important to me and may be to you.

I haven't had progressive for 3-4 years now but never had an issue with them. Everytime i called i was on hold less than 5 minutes. Only had one claim with them and they took care of me. Only reason I switched was they weren't the low bidder anymore.

Been with progressive for the last 6-7 years and the rates just keep climbing. Looking to switch next month when the policy is up. Perfect timing on the thread! LOL

Every time I try to use Hagerty they say my car does not qualify. Do they only insure "classic" cars?
that's weird. your car should totally qualify. mine isn't a daily driver so i don't put many miles on it, i've only got like 10K and its a 2022 so maybe thats it?
