Great point! Thx for that. I wouldn't have known about that!
no worries man!

I noticed your in CANADA, you guys get winters just like us obviously being so close, does your MOT require you to have winter tires by a certain date?

No requirements at all. In my case I just thought of this winter concern at the last minute. I'm assuming you have that requirement?

Quebec does require snow tires from December 15th to March 15th : One of the smartest law on earth if you ask me, when you see how much snow we get here in Canada

Been driving the car as a DD since Oct 2014! Blizzack LM-32's or similar is a must for midwest winter. Even took the car out on a road trip in a snow storm to upper wisconsin. Call me crazy, but if you know how to drive and take advantage of the snow/wet mode, you will be fine.

Just ease your mind that you won't be one of the fastest cars on the road in the winter. Its better to be safe!

we don't have this regulation here... I always felt that canada made sure these issues were covered before the timeframe.

i agree, we should mandate this in the states. I know it costs people more money but I'm sure accidents and fatalities will drop after that. There are too many people that will attempt to drive on BALD tires around here alone... no good

^ How does the GT handle on slippery steep hills especially in stop and go traffic?

I purchased Blizzaks for my 2011 GT but by the time you spend 1200$ on snow tires you can find a 4wd beater to drive for same price.

I would have to be out of my mind if i m trusting a $1200 dollar beater, especially for the winter! :headbonk:

Agree.....why spend the dough on the luxuries of this car to give it up during the winter if a good set of rubbers will take care of it....just my opinion.

Well I got a 99 Cherokee for the price of tires with the straight 6 and it will run forever keeping my mustang out of the salt. But to each his own I guess.

I picked my Mustang up in January just in time for the worst winter in recorded history for Boston. With a set of winter tires and snow mode the car handled everything the weather threw our way.

with proper winter tires, you will achieve traction. People forget that cars were all RWD years ago..... getting proper winter tires will be just fine... I've been doing it for years....

not worth to get a beater... if it breaks down it will cost you more than driving your car brand new with winter tires....

** oh hey, my winter beater honda needs a timing belt replacement (common on hondas and several other Japanese model cars) well, now you're out the cost of the car, and the replacement, which can cost about 1500 on the cheap... so buy winter tires, and save your self the headache of a beater purchase price, a beater registration price, a beater insurance price, and a beater maintenance price...

if you're the kind of guy who leaves his car in the garage and only drives it on nice days then you have made the worst investment decision of your life and you need to sell your car and get into another hobby.... for the haters.... i know you may love your cars to the DEATH but its only a piece of metal made by a human, so drive it and enjoy it, its not going to last forever and if you try to make it last forever, you are wasting your life and your money..... have at it forums...:ninja:

Welll you have a point but I do my own work on cars and dont buy worn out hondas either. Its all about getting the right vehicle. My last car was in snow all the time, this one ill try to keep out of it. Doesnt mean you cant drive the car on non snow days.
