Farley was quoted as telling someone during his meeting with Trump on the F150 assembly line that they were introducing a new Mustang and Bronco.

I hate how they've tried to move away from their heritage names, as if Dark Horse SC has more clout than Boss or Cobra. Very disappointed.
Jim Farley just wanted to create his own legacy, and he did. It will be remembered as the “Clown Years” at Ford. 🤡

Mustang 7G has all the Facebook leaked info. GT500 powertrain, optional CCBs, wing and CF wheels, variable traction control, rear suspension adjustments, a little more total downforce than the CFTP, uglier. Probably 120-135k with all the track options. Cup 2 R tires. Cooler seats, optional CF trim pieces. Beefed up cooling and everything to match the power increase (which is not known it looks like).

Definitely not trading in the CFTP for this, but still cool. I imagine it is certainly going to be faster on track. How much is hard to tell with the tire difference and suspension tweaks.

Well whatever Ford unleashes, it won't be affordable by the average guy. Look at the price of the DH well into 75 - 78K. A supercharged version will be 100K. A mid engine version (wishful thinking) 150 to 170K. Gone are the days you can by a marque Mustang for around 50K. Yeah yeah a new base GT is that, but with no goodies included.

A GT500 in the 60's would cost about 50k today. The mustang GT in its base form is more car than a GT500 from the 60's.

The difference is in product positioning and marketing. If the GT were the "halo car" it would be more 1:1 with historical perspective.

Technology now allows for much more insane halo cars, and predictably, they cost a lot more on a relative basis.

Your 40k salary from the 1960's is a 350k salary today.

Bingo!! A nicely optioned DH is OVER 80K without a power adder. And we all know, we need a power adder. lol 😉
A Base C8 Z06 is about 90- 100k.
C8 Z cars are being discounted BIGLY though, if you look around. Still out of reach for most.
(And I do understand that we, as consumers, have to pay for the R&D that goes into these cars.)

You can certainly bet that any “improvements” made should be highly attributed to the tires and reduced weight of the CCBs.

Honestly, thats the only thing I’m interested in. Should bolt right on to my GT500. Since after this reveal she’s not going anywhere.

Yeah most of it is going to be the tires. The stated "suspension tweaks" have me interested (assuming that its not just tweaked stock DH suspension) but I'm not buying a new car for that.

A CCB setup has been available for GT500's for a few years now from Racing Brake. Its a literal 1:1 replacement. Spendy for sure but worth it I imagine.

I've been disenchanted with Ford in general since they stuck the Mustang name on the Mach wannbE.
Face it, Ford has zero innovation and less common sense.

I don't think the price range is really the killer. I mean just look at the F150. It's not that difficult to option one to $125k-$150k range and people still find a way to spend that stupid money.
The problem is lack of innovation and losing touch with their customer base. It wouldn't have been that hard to revive the Thunderbird into the competition for the Corvette that it once upon a time was.
But no, they have to keep repeating the same vehicle with minimal tweaks and we're supposed to smile and say "Please Sir, may I have another?"
Sadly my '18 convertible will be the last Ford I buy. There are too many companies with more innovation, better quality and better warranties.

How? I can't get a F150 over $100k even by going with a Platinum and every option

Which years under a different CEO yielded better products? Was it in the late 60s where people thought the cars were awesome but couldn't hang with a new base gt? 225hp fox bodies? Ford tempo? Aerostar vans? 305hp top dog 4v cobra?
