For the 2015-2023 Coyote 5.0 owners who have owned their S550’s long term now - give us a status update of ownership bits…

- Such as accrued miles
- Major or minor repairs
- How is the engine holding up and is it still the original 5.0 to the vehicle?
- Forced Induction (supercharger/turbo) or N/A?

I’m curious to hear your ownership experiences and pros/cons now that the oldest S550 is 11 years old and the “newest” is 3 years old.

Hello Cobra Jet,
I am the original owner of my 2020 PP1 with the MT82. Bought it new in December of 2020, I currently have 37k miles and absolutely enjoy driving it. I do daily it, only mods I have done is a K&N drop in, Steeda stop the hop IRS braces and a Borla S-Type catback exhaust. I did have my clutch and flywheel replaced at 23K miles because of a bad clutch chatter. I have also experienced the tick when using Ford full synthetic oil, when I use Mobil 1 it is whisper quiet. Future mod will be a ESS supercharger kit with supporting mods.

21 Mach 1. Second owner. Just turned 20K miles (15K in my ownership) Has been flawless so far. Oil changes every 5 K, and I drive it (hard at times). Only engine mod is a Wengerd 93 tune, and a passenger side catch can. I got that right after buying it, plan on doing ESS down the road at some point, with the supporting mods (headers, no kitties, Clutch, drive shaft, half shafts, OPG/CS).

2023 GT A10 here, totally stock.
23,750 and counting.
She has seen the triple digits many times.
She has the BBQ tick and the 2K rattle.
The factory A10 tune is the worst part of the car due to its mpg focused nature.
I like using the paddles.
Only issue so far is that the front end is starting to pop/clunk when turned full left. I suspect a control arm issue but haven't looked into it yet.

35000 kms with RSPEC supercharger from new. No issues other than fitting camber plates as inner tyre edge flare could not be adjusted out from new. Smile for every mile. Not daily driver but no garage queen either.

I am the 2nd owner of my 2016 GT, but I bought it in Feb 2017 with ~2k miles on the clock. Mods in sig. I did manage to destroy a crankshaft, so I upgraded to the Aluminator short block. Sitting at 84K miles and runs great! The supercharger went on around mile marker 30K.

2021 Mach 1.....also 2nd owner and bought it with 2,300 miles on the odo. Primarily used for driving really fast on a road course. No issues yet.

I am second owner of a 2019 GT A10. Bought with 7800 miles in 2021 and it has just over 40k now. Mine is a Canadian car, I bought it at the BMW dealer I worked at in IL when it came through as a used car traded from another dealer in the auto group, where it was on their lot too long. A couple years later, it moved along with me to west central FL. No performance mods as it is my daily, and my wife may need to drive it from time to time and I don’t need her to have to deal with some finicky or annoying thing that many of us might look the other way on. We also do road trips in it. I did replace the resonator with a steeda H pipe, which she thinks is tolerable - any louder and we would only be driving her car on those road trips. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a car girl, and loves all that stuff, but an obnoxious 4+ hour drive is not her (or mine really) idea of fun. I don’t plan on getting rid of the car, and when it ultimately stops being the daily, I’ll get into some performance projects. Only problem I have had is the OE battery failing a few months ago, which resulted in the terminal corroding as well. So had to replace the batt and ground cable. I have done some speaker changes and Forscan changes. Did the jailbreak of sync3 and installed a new theme.

I'm the original owner of my 2015 GT. It has just under 39K on it and has never had a mechanical issue other than the brake pedal stop issue.

EDIT: I forgot to add that the only mechanical mods I have are a cold air intake and exhaust.

2022 Mach 1 HP; 20,000 miles, bought it used 3,300 miles. Recreationally driven only. Stock with no major repairs. No engine tick or rattle. Biggest issue is a couple of windshield rock chips. Pleased with the Ford product as it goes fast, looks fast, sounds fast, and can go thru gas fast!

2023 GT, second owner Purchased April of last year on vacation, flew back down to florida the weekend after to drive it 1300 miles home starting with 26k on it, 35k when parked it this year for winter. (might do the same thing with a Raptor this year) installed a borla s type cat back to replace a muffler deleted exhaust, installed a track pack kit beginning of this year and about to order some 20" velgens this month to replace the aftermarket 19x9.5s on the car. No issues so far and its been a blast owning it.

Not wanting to Jinks, split the pole or knock on wood but here it goes.. Other than a high RPM 3-4 shift Blowen Clutch (self-inflicted) I replaced on Jack stands might I add. Its a 2015 GT one owner ordered in 2014 10 years 71,000 miles air conditioning stills blows cold as day one. Has been to the dealer once for the free oil change and to add the Ford performance power pack 2. I couldn't ask for a better car.

Bought new January 2015, put FP Power Pack 2 on it in 2016. This is a second car so gets driven about 5-6K miles a year.

Now has 58,000 miles, about 2,000 miles on a new engine.

Still have original brake pads but next on my 60,000 mile upcoming maintenance list to replace.

Initially had cosmetic issues replaced under warranty:
- passenger side door seal
- crease in leather driver's seat

Issues:

1. the brake pedal bumper stop disintegrated,. the clutch pedal one was about to go. Supposedly replaced under a recall but they didn't, replaced myself.

2. the passenger rear brake light had a weird short, if you use the key fob to lock the vehicle one of the light elements would light up when it wasn't supposed to. Replaced under warranty.

3. the water pump shaft. Broke. Left me stranded, amazingly other than turning my coolant overflow tank orange, no long term damage. The drive belt just slipped off and didn't get chewed up or anything.

4. misfire in cylinder 8 (P0300/P0308)

During diagnosis tech found cylinder 8 was scored due to valve stem oil leak (?). Won the lottery and got a new engine under extended warranty at around 55,000 July 2025. but the misfire persisted.

5. misfire in cylinder 8 (P0300/P0308) after engine replacement

You guessed it, intake manifold runner control. Missed during engine replacement :-/ Replaced
under extended warranty

6. stock throttle body P0212 code

The stock TB has been in storage for about 10 years, removed when replaced the Power Pack 2 GT350 throttle body. Had to return the car to stock for diagnostics. The stock throttle body threw a P0212 code twice at random times. Stuck closed code but I cleaned the bejezus out of it before reinstalling. Regardless, a new stock TB solved the issue

7. Driver side weather strip where convertible top and trunk meets refuses to stay down. Where it has the 90 degree bend it pops out a little.

8. Radio button wear. Normal, too many tunes I guess

No issues

1. the A/C issue . I kept buying the extended warranty just in case this popped up which it hasn't yet. I hardly use the A/C at all with the top down, sort of pointless. Only time I use it regularly is when driving with top up on road trip which isn't very often. Still works, but afraid to use it

2. convertible top works fine, no leaks. Treat it with Aerospace 303 about every 2 years.

Maintenance

1. oil change every 12 months
2. tire rotation every 12 months (until I got staggered wheels)
3. manual transmission and differential flush at 30,000
4. cabin air filter at 30,000
5. plugs at 50,000 miles but not sure if new engine came with plugs
6. Brake fluid flush DOT 4 every 3 or 4 years
7. Had clutch, throw out bearing replaced during engine replacement since labor was free. Clutch was working fine however.

--

Car was in and out of shop May to November last year, so this year I plan to drive the heck out of it and look at 2027 Mustangs

Bought new and driven daily 2021 GT 401A A10 currently at 78K and uses maybe a half quart oil between changes Only issue I had was a leaky rear differential and had to replace the battery this past September. I’m still on the original brake pads!
