So I travel a lot for work but usually it's for just a week or 2 and maybe a month here or there. Due to a bigger state side mission coming up, I'll be traveling for a year to a year and a half this time. Car will likely have around 10k miles on it when I leave and I'll be visiting home at least every other month if not more. My question is if I take it for a spin on visits or leave it alone till I'm home for good? It'll be cleaned and car covered in a garage and on a battery tender while away and if driven during a visit, then I'll repeat the storage process. My main concern is the oil, I'm not going to want to change it at all on a visit because it's only a weekend at a time and the wife has boobs. I stored my last car in this way with zero visits for 9 months and just changed the oil when I got home. Being that this will be a little longer but I'll have the option to take it around the block a few times, I'm curious about your guys thoughts. Synthetic oil should be fine to sit and get me to my lift access 20 miles away for a change after a year and a half right?
