I'm not following....what does this mean?

They swapped a larger Whipple supercharger onto the GTD for testing to see how much more time they could squeeze out of it. More than likely, they will just have Eaton upgrade the current blower to match and/or improve the power that the Whipple produces on this test vehicle, on either the 2nd Gen GTD or an upgraded model added next year.

I did notice this GTD has a Nürburgring sticker on the rear between the taillights. I wonder if they'll make a special GTD Ring edition for next year, with the bigger blower and the added aero & canards?

Ford has had the Nurburgring stickers on the cars testing at the ring for over a year. They can be seen in other vids from last year. Doesn't Ford have a relationship with Whipple on the 5.0? I could see this being a Ford Racing track kit or something similar. Parts that you can buy in a catalog. That is the way Mercedes got the record on the Black Series. They had parts on the car that did not come with it but that you can buy from AMG. It would be the best way to not piss off existing GTD owners that just received their cars and dropped a big chunk of change on them.

You’re not wrong there. Politics with high dollar cars so to speak. But rightfully so. I agree that if Ford was to mess with it they’d have Eaton tweak it a bit, but I doubt they’d actually formaliy release that.
