I don't get that when the Stingray (the current base C8) is faster around the Lightning Lap than the Dark Horse, and faster in the 1/4 mile, and they are basically the same price.
It’s a very sterile feeling behind the wheel, that’s the best way I can describe it. I have a big shit eating grin on my face when driving my Mustang and when I drove a few Shelby’s. Never got that feeling driving the C8 w/Z51 package. It’s super quick but just kinda meh. The C6 and C7 Vette’s have that Mustang/Shelby exhilarating experience, at least IMO. The C8 doesn’t.

Don't have time to go through the whole thread right now, but I can comment on the happy wife vs a new car thing.
I bought my first Mustang in late 2013. It was a new 2013 GT with the Brembo brake package, and the suspension was stiffer than the standard GT. I had just spent 3 months nursing the wife back to health from a broken knee. She wasn't thrilled, but figured I deserved it for putting up with her. After a few trips she loved the Mustang but thought the suspension was too stiff for her back. When Magnaride came out in 2018 I started researching and decided on a 2019 GT PP2 in late 2019 when Ford was discounting Mustangs. She was really pissed at the dealership, and when I asked her about it she said, "you are going to do what you want to do anyway" I told her about the suspension and that I was doing it for her. She didn't believe me, but on the ride home after we picked it up she commented on the nicer ride. A year later and a few road trips we were hit with a financial crises of her making. She caught me in the driveway staring at the Mustang and she knew what I was thinking. She started pleading with me not to sell the Mustang, it was to important to us.
So you see, you don't even have to ask forgiveness; sometimes it just comes.

Huh? Are you sure this is the thread you wanted to comment on? This is a thread almost entirely about the new Corvettes...

Sure. Just saying that if you want a C8 go for it and don't worry about the wife. You can always use the excuse that it was "on sale"; they can understand that.

Or you could just practice healthy communication and understanding between two individuals that need to share finances and live together for the rest of their lives. I don't think it's ok for a man or a woman to make a purchase that large without the consent of the other person. Also, my wife "understands" plenty and makes more money than I do. It's 2025. Mens' wives matter.

Just turn in your man card, schedule another session for sensitivity training and stay away from comedy clubs.
You know you can disagree without being rude right? If anyone's feelings got hurt, it was clearly yours. Now please, let these nice people continue talking about Corvettes in peace.

My feelings aren't hurt, and I'm all for talking about cars.

So Ford is testing hybrid Mustangs out in the wild around Dearborn? Could this be “Chris” Farley’s answer to the C8 Eray? AWD 5.0 Coyote with a front electric motor?
