Anyone ease my mind a little?

I’m not sure why I’m overthinking this shit, but I’m worried I’ll mess something up somehow.

Car on all 4 jack stands, 8 mm Allen socket, ratchet, 3 quarts of BG synchro shift 2 fluid with pump.

Car is at 66k and I’m ready to do this. It’s so hot outside so I’m waiting till it cools off till later today.

I know it’s probably really simple for most of you guys, but I just tend to overthink everything.

Any advice?

Pretty simple. Just don't spill the fluid all over.

You've got the steps, super easy, just take your time and try not to spill. Bring some rags for cleanup, and cardboard for under you if you have it.

Agreed with above. Fill plug out first. That way if it is froze you aren't stuck with a drained trans and can't refill it. Then just drain, plug back and refill til it starts to weep out the fill plug hole, cap off and clean up the mess...

Cake job. Just take the fill plug out first. That way if it won't come out you don't start a job you can't finish.
The only thing I need is an 8mm Allen right for the drain and fill plugs?

I believe the 3/8" ratchet fits the plugs but it's been a little while since I've done mine.

Easy peasy. As stated, pull the fill plug first before the drain plug. Curious as to why no one is using Amsoil?

Yep. If you have trouble with reach, behold the transmission drain and fill bolt reacher:

Waste? A little more expensive but I think it's decent fluid.
It is a waste, it beats normal stuff in lab tests but in actual use its indistinguishable.

people put it in their transmissions and exclaim how nice it is, but unless you fill it with amzoil, drain it and then fill it with something normal to compare its only a comparison of new oil to old oil where new oil always wins.

Its expensive, and its also an MLM which i cannot stand either.

MLM? lol like Amway???? Well, to each their own. I’m not advocating for the stuff just curious as to why no one here uses it. I’ve used the stuff in trannies and Diffs and it was pretty good stuff. When I did a clutch change in my E39 M5 I used Amsoil in the tranny and rear end. Ive used Royal Purple and Valvoline before with good results, too. But have never heard of BG until skimming the 6G forums.

BG got its reputation for making shifting little smoother on 15-17 MT-82 cars.
But none of this, including shifter feel means anything for how good the fluid is - it's job is to lubricate and just about any of them does it fine. I change my transmission fluid every once in a while and it comes out perfectly clean. Literally like straight out of the bottle.
