I haven't even used the oem launch control LOL, but plan to practice soon in a large parking lot. BTW; Can our cars, if you put our 10R80 in manual shift mode, select 2nd, when you launch will it launch in 2nd gear?
I’m not sure on that.

Here’s more information on the 2nd gear leave tune for high hp cars.

I will ask Wengerd to add for track mode if possible which I think I read some where the tuner can do. Nice idea. Plus, I will definitely build transmission for that has to be a hard hit on the transmission.

Wengerd cut it on in my tune. Its really cool. My trans is built though. I've never had the opportunity to really launch it at the RPMS my car is capable of yet though. I have used it though and it works.

It should definitely keep it straighter due to not shifting and slamming 2nd gear. Who did your transmission and what upgrades did you have done?

I don't know the builder. My mechanic had a guy who did a phenomenal job. Whomever they are they're in GA. I have the Suncoast Stage 2 Upgrade and rebuild kit for the 10r80 with a thermal bypass and 3600 CircleD Converter. You would probably want the Stage 4. I also have a QA1 driveshaft.

Great, I think I know that shop. I also installed QA1 CF DS and GForce 1500 hp axles with exotic ends. How does your 3600 stall drive on the street? How's its temperament? Thanks

Its funny, its not for the faint of heart. For me it makes me drive the car the way I designed it to ride. I installed the cams months after installing the converter. The converter worked my trans more than it wanted to be and the transmission went out 2 months after installing it. Street manners, my car has the 3.55 gears so I'm sure that helps the converter a lot. When I'm driving at neighborhood speeds (very slow) my car doesn't like it. It will shift accordingly and go through the gears like butter until the converter locks up. Then you get a bump or thrust forward that'll make you think you're in a real manual. When I'm driving more spirited and the RPM's are where there are supposed to be the car is absolutely perfect. Basically the converter wants to do what it was designed to do and if it's not in its power band is when you get that bump or thrust forward. When I keep it the RPMS above 3500 which is definitely riding along nicely, then its absolutely the way it should've left the factory. The 10r80 and an upgraded converter is a complete cheat code. If you drive at moderate speed the acceleration is just really nice. It'll shift at maybe 6000 and drop by back to 4000 rpm. It doesn't lose RPM'S on the shift like the stock converter does it keeps you well up in your power band. Not to say anything negative about the stock converter, this is just better oriented for these high revving motors. Sometimes I cruise at a Cadillac tempo and it doesn't like that too much. My wife drove the car and doesn't like it because she says it made her feel like it wanted to go fast when she didn't. After this drawn out post I still feel I didn't quite describe the magic. You'd have to drive one. I can only imagine how it'd feel with a Whipple in front of it!

I just drove it. The RPMS actually shift at 4500 and drop back to 4000 on moderate driving

I think you already have something special as your car sits. As mentioned before, you will probably be very surprised once you have a chance to run it and see what it does.

I do plan to drive mine on the street too with the turbo, but it should hold well on the factory sealed motor for that purpose. When I go to the track, I’ll turn it up, make some hits and turn it back down for reliability again.

Are you going to run a parachute too?
I said i would turn it down on the street too but here I am using low boost for stop lights only. Once I'm over 40mph I can't help but to turn it up.

Not sure what the consensus is here but Texas Speed has fully forged Gen 3 Coyote motors for very reasonable pricing.

https://www.texas-speed.com/p-18800-tsp-forged-50l-coyote-gen-3-short-block-resleeved.aspx

There are several examples of these built motors from TSP making big power and reliably achieving 7's in the 1/4.

I personally have one of this motors awaiting install...
I looked at their website site and they do seem reasonable compared to other builder. For me, I will chat with racers like Beefcake to get his opinion to. I would rather nor having a pickled engine sitting around. Now if I had a 500 or specialty car, I would keep

I have the block I linked you to sitting crated on my garage floor at the moment.

Message @beefcake and he will get hooked up…
